But what's up with the whole 12 Wisemen Committee that they talk about in MGS2 then? Ah, it just came to me. Back then, (during PO) the Patriots Wisemen's Committee wasnt created yet. He most likely is the one who used the Legacy to create the Committee. And since Ocelot said that he wanted Big Boss to join "them," that person is probably a member himself (maybe some kind of "leader" of the Patriots since he's all badass and all). But you know what? I doubt Ocelot wont regain control of his mind and his body, and when he does, I got a feeling he'll double cross that motherlover just as he has always double crossed people and he'll "take over" or something. It'd actually be nice to see him as the final enemy. He's been around since the days of Big Boss, causing trouble, behind the scenes, triple-crossing people... I love Liquid, but I cant help to see as Ocelot as the true villain in the MG universe. Argh, too many things! Now my hype for MGS4 has returned once again! On another subject, I thought it was cool how Gene and Big Boss represented early versions of Liquid and Snake. Especially when Gene revealed to BB who he was and when he called BB his "brother." Gene wanted to continue doing what The Boss has started, and Liquid wanted (or wants, since hes not dead yet) to continue what Big Boss has started. Nice parrarellism there. EDIT: Ah! The strategist's codename is Null!!! "Ocelot appears again in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, albeit his role is mostly offscreen. He is first mentioned when Gene contacts him via telephone, implying, at the time, he and Gene are in league. Gene does question the nature of Ocelot's activities, however, pointing out he is "betraying his employers" and realizing it would be impossible for Ocelot to do everything he is doing without someone higher up backing him. As Gene ponders over who Ocelot's mysterious backer could be, Gene confesses he already believes it to be ' the man with the same codename as Null'." We got a (code)name for now!

Wait, what are you guys talking about? The Wise Men's Committee isn't a secret anymore is it? The Boss was the daughter to the last member of the Wise Men. The group died before the events in Snake Eater.
Could you explain Liquiduz what you mean with them not being created until after PO?

Watch the scenes again, especially the phone call after the credits.
Ocelot got all the info on the US Philasophers and the Legacy from the DIA guy. Then he tells the mystery person that they, along with Big Boss, should become the Patriots.
And keep in mind the timeline after Snake Eater. It is around this time that the US branch of the Philasophers gets the second half of the Legacy and separates under the name The Patriots.
So it's Ocelot, the Mystery guy, and most likely Big Boss that started the Patriots.

Big Boss? You think? Wasn't Outer Heaven a rebellion agains them? Or how was it?
And AG, the Wise Men were part of the Philisophers, not the Patriots.

Not necesserily. In MGS2 they talk about the 12 Wise Men commitee as the Patriots, NOT Philasophers. We knew nothing of the Philasophers until MGS3.
Big Boss could've joined them to start things off in the 70's, but then went rougue with Outer Heaven. That could be it too.

But the Patriots are in actuality nothing more than another personĀ“s version of the Philosophers, sort of. A developement of sorts. Anyways, I can see now what Kojima meant when he said Portable Ops was tied to Guns of the Patriots.

Well, the Patriots basically replace the US branch of the Philasophers, in a nut shell.
Now what that means is unclear. Did they just kill off the US Philosophers or simply took over and renamed the group? We know the mystery person and Ocelot were directly involved. Big Boss is a variable that's not explained yet.
Technically all of that can be explained in MGS4, and I hope it will be.

Me too. I would like to be able to walk away from MGS4 and have all the answers in my hand. I don't want fifty games to follow, detailing just small parts here and there.

What if the Mystery Guy (I'll call him Null #2) is non other than Johnny Sasaki! lol
Seriously, Null #2 is probably a new character. But I got to thinking, if it's someone who's been introduced in the past before... who could it be? Someone who's been around since the days of the Cold War. And if he's still alive in MGS4, who? Then one person's name crossed my mind.....
...Vamp.

This Null #2 I think should wear a suit and sit behind a desk. Not go around drinking blood and sexying other men (if Null #2 is a man that is).

For being someone secretly in charge of everything, she's kinda screwed in the end of SE though. ;D Unless of course that was part of her plan.

I was just thinking of people that survived Snake Eater: Major Zero - Meh... ParaMedic - No way! Sigint - Yo... yeah right, a brother?! C'mon!

I was just thinking of people that survived Snake Eater: Major Zero - Meh... ParaMedic - No way! Sigint - Yo... yeah right, a brother?! C'mon! SIGINT? Then something must have gone very wrong in his plans, since he was toasted in the electric chair on Shadow Moses. ParaMedic has the looks, and the little brains she's got is focused on animals and plants. Maybe we should look for characters who only appeared in later games but was old enough to have existed as adults in SE.
