Without really overdoing it, how many more games could you see being squeezed into the series?
I would say 2 more on the PSP would work just fine.
1964 - Snake Eater (The story begins) 1970 - Portable Ops (Metal Gear and Outer Heaven origin) OPEN - How about the making of Outer Heaven in the 80's? More on Big Boss, Les Enphants Terrible, Patriots formation, Cambell, and Gray Fox!!! 1995 - Metal Gear (Outer Heaven) 1999 - Solid Snake (Zanzibar Land, death of Big Boss) 2005 - MGS (Snake Twins) OPEN - How about Snake's mini missions in Philanthoropy. It would work great on a PO game system! 2007/2009 - Sons of Liberty (Snake Twins part 2) 2015 - Guns of the Patriots (The story ends, death of Solid Snake?)

I would like to see a game where at the end BB enters into a coma. Liquid said that he was already in a coma when they started the Les Enphants Terrible project. What and ending that would make.

The Problem is that it'll most likely be the very next mission after Portable Ops.
Portable Ops starts on November 01, 1970. The Sons of Big Boss are born in 1972.
Now, you gotta remember, that the way the game playes is it actually shows you the days as you go on each mission. So at best you can finish the game by Jan 01, 1971 (I think that's how you unlock Cunningham). So it is a LONG campaign, not like all the other games. That really only gives us 1971 and at the latest the beginning of 1972. Not too much time really to put up another big campaign.
I was thinking more towards the 80's. Perhaps seeing each of the triplets as children. The mission would be to take actually TAKE over an area that will become Outer Heaven. That would be unique to Metal Gear as well. Instead of just infiltrating, you are waging a small war with your squad to convert the enemy to your side and eventually take over the area. In the process you learn who is behind it all.

One cool thing would be having Big Boss not knowing he was a part of Les Enfants Terribles until like several years after. Can you imagine how mad he would be? That would be a good reason for him to decide to use the plans for Outer Heaven I think.
About how many games on PSP... I don't know. It would be cool with a portable trilogy, don't you think? That way we have three trilogies, sort of.
Big Boss trilogy 1: Metal Gear Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Solid Snake trilogy: Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Big Boss trilogy 2: Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops 2 Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops 3

I don't know, MG2 is a Solid Snake story, not Big Boss. I don't care what Kojima says. Look at the fraking title! It's like saying that Snake Eater is not about Big Boss but about The Boss. It's silly to think that way. However, I do think that MG1 is a Big Boss chapter. MG2 is already more of a "Rise of Solid Snake" saga.
Big Boss Saga:
Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops 2 Rise of Outer Heaven Metal Gear
Solid Snake Saga:
Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots
So, I do think that putting in one more game into the Big Boss era would be good, one in the 80's.

Kojima just keeps changing things as he goes along. I mean, until MGS3, MG1 and 2 were clearly Solid Snake installments. Now we got all the backstory to deal with. Things are getting grey... And hell, technically MGS2 is about Raiden.... So.. yeah..
You could list it like this too:
Big Boss: MGS3, MGPO, MG1 Solid Snake: MG1, MG2, MGS, MGS2, MGS4 Raiden: MGS2
Who knows!

Nah, I have to say I don't agree with what you said about Raiden though.
I'm with the few who believes Solid Snake to be the main character in MGS2. I mean, look at it like this: Take Solid Snake and throw him away, what would MGS2 be like then? He is so central to that story it wouldn't work without him.
Take Big Boss out of the picture and think; how would MGS be like?

My point was that there are many ways to look at the series.
Big Boss is the main guy of MGS3 and Portable Ops, CLEARLY.
Solid Snake is the main guy of MG 2, MGS and MGS4, CLEARLY.
Now MG1 and MGS2 are somewhat gray areas.
Big Boss is a vital part of the MG1 story, especially after the recent prequals. So they can easily share that storyline. And Raiden is a central figure of MGS2. I'm not saying he's THE guy, but he clearly takes the center stage along side Snake.

(Don't take everything I say exactly the way I say it, because I might express myself somewhat wrong due to language barriers.)
