I'm sure everyone is planning on getting it at some point. I'm curious who played the game besides me.

How come? Kinda strange. A cannon installment that has gotten good reviews all around and you're not getting into it... What gives? Busy?

Dude, there is no cards. And the team building is no different than hunting for animals in MGS3.
Exactly how far have you gotten in the game?
Besidies, you don't HAVE to gather that many recruites... you can try to rough with just a few. Hell, run through it as just Snake, if you can.
Personally, I don't think you played it enough to actually see it for what it really is. You are grouping it with the likes of the Acid games. That's big mistake.

Well, I know there isn't a Card collectio, but the recruiting soldiers FEELS like I'm collecting cards, or pokemon or something

Have you actually done it, or are you just basing that on clips you've seen?
Because when you do it actually feels more like hunting. Besides, you only need to do it once. Once you built a strong unit, you keep it, every time you start a new game. You don't have re-recruit everyone. So spend some time doing the busy work, and then the game is just so much fun to play.
I got all the items and weapons found, so never have to go looking for any of them anymore. Plus you Med and Tech unit makes stuff for you all the time!
You know me and my narrow views on what I like in Metal Gear. Over the years I bitched just about everything that was slightly diviated from the typical formula. But this WORKS! Trust me!

Pft! That's like saying that you don't like MGS1 after only reaching the Tank Hanger.
You have no idea man, no idea.
