This is great!
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops did extremely well in its first week of sales. It debuted at #1 in North America and in Japan in all PSP video game sales. [3] Anecdotal evidence shows that the game is currently ranked #2 on Amazon Japan as of December.25th, 2006. The title ranked high in preorder numbers in Japan, and is estimated to have sold over 100,000 copies in it's first day, which is highly notable for a game on the PSP - most games have been recorded peak at 30,000 initial sales in the first week

That's awesome. Does this mean we get sequels? Kojima said that if PO is popular, he'll bring us more.

The reviews were good. The sales are good. The overall reception is good. So yeah, I can definetly see an MPO2. And if they use the same game engine (from MGS3) they can probably pop one out by this time next year.
The reason why PSP Metal Gear can be released so fast is because they use the game engine from a console game. The two Acids used the MGS2 mechanics and programming and MPO used the ones from MGS3. All they need to do is rehash the outfits on the characters and revamp areas.
