MGS1 Fighting mantis

Hey everyone.

Im playing MGS1 on my PSP and i'm up to the part on were i have to fight mantis.

But because i'm playing it on my psp i cant switch to controller port 2.

And I know there is a way to beat him without switching but i don't know how.
So if anyone knows.....

Shoot the statues. When the mask goes flying off one of them, Mantis can see his own face and gets distracted or something.

I heard they were gonna make official PS1 emulators for the PSP though... what happened to that?

I thought Anthony had bought the game virtually on PS3 and downloaded it on the memorycard for PSP? Isn't that feature available yet?

The games are placed on a memory card? A 2-disk game fits on a PSP memory card?! Wow...

PS1 games came on CD, PS2-games on DVD, and PS3-games on Blue Ray Disc. A CD isn't that big. Only MB. Memory Cards for the PSP can handle up to 1 Gb.

Guess that makes sense. So is this stuff official and only through a PS3?

Yes you can do that if you wanted to but sony hasnt released many games for it yet.

I don't own a PS3, its not out in Australia and wont be until march 2007.
And even if it was i'm not paying $999 for it.

And also i wouldn't pay $10 for a game from Sony's market place, which i already own and paid retail price for.

ok ok let me explain.

Some guy hacked the latest PSP firmware (Firmware 3.02).
In doing so he customized it released the lock on most of Sony's security features allowing users to do pretty much anything on the latest firmware.
Such as allowing you to play home brew applications on your PSP, loading ISOs of your backed up PSP games etc.

What really made this a big deal was he also hacked the Official PSone emulator and now you can play your backed up PSone ISO's on your PSP. Instead of paying money and downloading the games from sony.
Btw Sony don't have many PSone games available to download and this new hack of the emulator lets you play ANY PSone game that you own.

So all i did was update to this custom 3.02 firmware and copy the ISO's of my MGS discs to my PSP (4GB memory card) and now i play MGS1 anywhere.

Its not really illegal because i own the MGS disc's.

And let me tell you it works flawlessly.
It plays on full speed and full sound and looks fantastic.

The only problem is that the PSP doesn't have the R2 and L2 Buttons but i use the directional pad as a replacement.

Yeh so hopefully that clears everything up.

What the hell is your problem? Why are you getting into it with everyone?

I like playing MGS once in a while too. What's wrong with that? You don't like it, don't play! But don't put others down for liking to play all-time classics.

Why wouldn't you want to play PSone games on your PSP?
There are heaps better games on the PSone than the PSP will ever have.

Anyway im still stuck with mantis lol.
