I heard rumors that MGS4 may get delayed until 2008 due to production. Would that really be such a bad thing? I would much rather wait a few extra months and get a completed game instead of a rushed package of flaws. Think of how much more enjoyable Snake Eater was in Subsistence with the fixed radio sequences and the 3D Camera. Not to mention the fun extras.
So why release it this year when it incomplete when they should just wait until '08 and get the whole thing polished out. If it comes out with all the extras and no bugs it will easily take the top spot in the PS3 games if not gaming in general. Subsistence was an amazing package. Just think what they could do with MGS4!
I say, 2008!

Aye, I agree with everything you said there. If you want it to come out in 2007 no matter the cost, you may as well be considered selfish and not a true fan of the series. If you can't wait a couple months for a superior product, you're an impatient whiner. If that be the case, may you also buy a prototype car that spits and sputters knowing full well the factory will be releasing the finalized model with all the kinks ironed out four months later.
Ninja edit: What was fixed in the radio sequences for MGS3?

This is also is builled as the Final Game in the siries. Why not take the time, get it right, and make the biggest splash possible?! MGS4 with not bugs and extras would blow Halo 3 out of the water!

I dont they'd delay it. Why? 'Cause if there are "errors" and all, they'd just release a MGS4: Subswhatchamacallit.

We know that. I was asking which you would rather have.

Both actually. I was pretty happy with both MGS3 and Subsitinence. I rather play the game early and wait for the bonus stuff, than wait a whole year for the entire game. The more the merrier, methinks.

Not me. The expansin packs ruin and trivialize the series. There are several resons for that:
1. The expanded version is only good because you get the extra stuff. So you are paying full game price primarely for the extras as the core game is the same. That sucks. But at the same time, you can't just release the extra stuff seperatly as was proven by VR Missions.
2. When you get the expanded version, you can pretty much toss the previous, only 1 year-old, version as it is completely absoleete.
To be, Subsistence was worth it given the presence of MG1 and 2, officially release for the first time. Other stuff like Boss Survival and the Theaters belong with the release of the core game.
A full package is the way to go, a one time shot that would make it count.

I wouldn't mind just as long as I didn't have to wait an extra 6 months for the Pal version, (its hard to stay spoiler free when you have to wait that long)

Very true. Though based on what we have seen with just about every Metal Gear title thus far, the PAL version would be the last to come.

Since PS3 games are region free I won't have to mod my PS3. If the PAL version of MGS4 got sdome extra stuff, I just sell the imported one.

Region free? Really?! That's confirmed now?
Now, does the PS3 brake the regions on the PSone and PS2 games?

Region free? Really?! That's confirmed now? Now, does the PS3 brake the regions on the PSone and PS2 games? PS3 games are region free. You can play japanese games on a PAL system. However, PS1 and PS2 games are still limited to the region. It has something to do with who distributed the games and stuff.

Does that hold true to the 360 and Wii as well?
I gotta say, what a great idea! There are always different games and features, now we can play them. I'll play MGS4 in English, then pull out the game from the Premium Package and play the Japanese! Sweet! Major points to Sony on that one.

I don't think we will have a major issue with the PAL countries on the PS3 because the PS3 is HD and HD uses the same standards all over the world.

It's so expensive to be into video games nowdays... it's just crazy! HD TV - $1000 (at least for something half-way discent!) PS3 - $600 MGS4 - $60 f...ck!
