If you ask me, Yoji Shinkawa is the best character designer in the video game industry, and probably every industry that features character designers. Since he started working side by side with Hideo Kojima, he has yet to create a character that isn't memorable or unique. Today I thought I'd list some of the sexiest characters he has designed over the years. Since my blog is about Metal Gear, this is limited to characters within the Metal Gear universe.
I'll work my way up to the winner.
First off I should mention characters that are good looking but didn't qualify to be on this list. Meryl looks good and has - as Snake put it - a great butt. But having a great butt alone isn't enough to be remarkably sexy in my opinion. We also have Mei Ling, but I thinks she's more cute than sexy. Emma... Yeah, she's a girl, and in most games that's enough to make one sexy. And even though she tried to convince us she was in fact more than only cute, I have to say no. Perhaps it's because she's more intelligent than me.
The Boss
Okay, first out is The Boss, who's got to be the most self confident, fictional person ever, no matter which type of gender you're looking at. That alone makes her attractively sexy. She also stars in one of the sexiest scenes in the Metal Gear Solid series. I'm talking about the scene in which Sokolov, Naked Snake and Colonel Volgin lies on the floor and The Boss herself is standing over them all. She nailed spot six.
EVA
For numerous reasons, EVA receives spot five. She reveals her cleavage in pretty much every scene she's in. She walks incredibly sexy. Her hair! Damn it looks so good! She has some sexy lines, like "I wouldn't mind eating you" and apparently she has sexual fantasies involving The Boss! And while some people complains she has an annoying voice, I'd say it's sexy (though that has got to be thanks to Suzetta Miñet, the voice actress).
Sniper Wolf
Sniper Wolf was probably the first video game character I fell in love with. I was young back then, so she wouldn't date me, but that didn't stop me from drooling over her when I was playing Metal Gear Solid. Like EVA, Sniper Wolf shows of her breasts, but Wolf does it in Alaska! She also walks very sexy, just like EVA. What makes Wolf even sexier than EVA is her accent. Wolf is my number four sexiest character.
Vamp
According to Yoji Shinkawa, Vamp's design are based on a Mexican flamenco dancer's looks. What makes Vamp sexy? Well, he's a dancer, he knows how to move. He's fit. Overall good looks. And there so much mystery surrounding his character and that makes him very sexy too. Vamp is number three.
Naomi Hunter
Naomi Hunter.... My oh my, where to begin? She looks so bloody intelligent and beautiful, and that combination = sexy. She wears a skirt which doesn't reveal much but makes you longing for more. She has nice legs, a beautiful face and black hair. In the original MGS, she had the sexiest voice ever (and even though the same actress did the voice in The Twin Snakes, she sounded way different, more like Emma), In Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots she looks better than ever. She proudly takes home second place.
(Hey, Naomi, you haven't forgotten about that strip search you promised, have you?)
Raiden
And the grand winner is.... Raiden! I won't give you an explanation to this. If you don't understand my decision, I'd like to ask you to go watch the trailer for MGS4 in which he solely takes down numerous Gekkos, preferably in HD. Okay? Good...
