As you may know, I'm a big Metal Gear collector. Well, at long last I can say that my collection contains two of the rarest items. Last year, about this time, I was able to snag Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake in great condition, complete with manual and even a Konami Music insert. Well, now I complete that collection by getting the original Metal Gear 1!!! I saw a guy selling an MG2 so I got in contact with him and got him to sell me MG1. His is in good condition and with a manual! Complete! So he put it up last night with a Buy Now option that we agreed on and I snaged it. Pricy... yes, $200. But well worthig it to me. The funny thing is, there was an auction for an MG1 but without a manual. The winning bid for that was $194. So I don't feel bad paying what I paid for a complete item. Now it's the waiting game to get it. Should hopefully get here next week, it's comming from Spain. I finally have the 3 things that I always felt were the most valuable in the MG collection: MG1 MSX MG2 MSX MGS Premium Package

I try to make it a point of not spending too much on other things. And I am picky about what I get for my MG collection. My main thing is figures, as I have every single one that they ever made. That’s my pride and joy. Luckaly there are not that many, lol! I also get the premium packages, but only if there are things in there that are unique and of actual value. Think of Twin Snakes and Portable Ops Premium Packs... useless, nothing of value. Their whole worth was the fact that both had a game console included. So, such things I don’t buy. But soundtracks, figures, manuals, art books... that kinda stuff.
The MG and MG2 games were a must. Outside of soundtracks there really is nothing in terms of merchandise for the first two games. As such, I wanted to make sure that I at least had the actual games. Plus it’s really like holding a piece of gaming history in your hands. MGS is starting to get to that level. Hold the original MGS1 game in your hands, look at the manul... it’s starting to fell OLD! That technology is starting to feel more like a relic now.
