As The Soldier told me a few weeks ago, Good Friday is apparently a/the Holiday where Jesus' death is memorialized. Aside from all the eggs, candy and bunnies, isn't Easter the same thing?

Easter is the celebration of Jesus' resurrection and Good Friday is the memorialization of his death.

Pretty big difference. Easter if the day Jesus rose up from the dead and ascended into Heaven. Basically the only reason that there are bunnies and eggs and crap on easter is because Hallmark couldn't sell cards with a picture of Jesus on them as easily as they could that which had a bunny. So they changed Easter to a holiday about spring, thus eliminating Jesus from the picture. Gotta love those corporate jack-offs.

Uhhhhh that and because Easter is the time off year where bunnies hop around and lay their eggs the most. At least where I live. There alot of bunnies at the park but most of them jump out into the road and becaome road-kill.

I'm talking exclusively to Black Snake...but it's a good thing you know that...it's an easy "lazy" mistake to make when you're not thinking too hard.

Good Friday is the day Christ was crucified and buried. Easter Sunday is the day he rose from the dead. He didn't ascend into heaven that day, though. The difference is important is because Easter Sunday signifies the completion of the New Covenant Christ told the disciples about at the Last Supper. As for the bunnies and eggs, pagan religions celebrated a Spring festival around the time Easter came, and rabbits and eggs were symbols of fertility (because eggs hatch into young birds, and rabbits screw like...well, rabbits). Over time, the two became linked, much as the pagan aspects of christmas and the christian ones (mistletoe, christmas trees, yule logs, etc.)
