I’m going to write a screenplay using characters created by Hideo Kojima. I will use Solid Snake, Hal Emmerich, Mei Ling, Nastasha Romanenko, Naomi Hunter and Vamp.
The story is set between the Shadow Moses incident of 2005 and the sinking of the USS Discovery in 2007. We follow Otacon as he tries to establish the Philanthropy organisation. At the same time, Snake rescues Naomi Hunter when she is debriefing (talking about her involvement in the Shadow Moses affair) at a military base somewhere in the US. I’m thinking of having Nastasha as a narrator. Her part in the movie however resolves around writing “In The Darkness of Shadow Moses” and at the same time trying to get in contact with her ex-husband via the Defence Intelligence Agency. Mei Ling is an aid to Otacon and she is also thinking about going back to school (she is after all a teenager). Mei Ling also works for the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center.
Later in the script we’ll follow Otacon as he goes behind Snake’s back when he receives information from someone calling himself “E.E.” While Otty is busy with researching Metal Gear RAY and hacking Pentagon, Snake gets a catch of paranoia as he believes a raven is watching over him. Later we learn that the raven might be the spirit of Vulcan Raven. Also in the end is the hiding of Nastasha Romanenko when she has published her book.
I will not only use those characters though, and I will create a couple myself. One of the leading characters is a young girl called simply the Girl. She has no name and no family, and she is found by Snake in the opening sequence. She will be with us and Snake through the whole movie. My thought is that she’ll make a nice contrast to Snake’s personality, yet they have a lot in common (she is a nomad). Mei Ling will sort of take care of her while they are at Philanthropy’s hide-out in New York.
Now it would be nice to get feedback on my “synopsis”. It’s pretty rough as of yet, but I’m figuring out stuff in my head at the mo before I start writing. This screenplay will be in English, so you guys will be able to read it when it’s done if you’re interested.
If it isn’t obvious; I cannot make this a motion picture. Why? I would need Konami’s approval and I would need to get a serious movie-company interested in the script. I would also need myself to like what I’ve done, which is a can’t do.
