State of MG Community address

I want to discuss the MG community with you guys. What do you think about the history of it, the present, and where we are going. A lot of site have come and gone...

The biggest difference that I see now, as opposed to say 2000 to 2001, is that there is no competition anymore. Most of the big dogs have gone down for the count. Most of the new sites that I've seen pop up, never seem to catch up on the content given the size of the series.

Unfortunetly, without competition, much of the desire for quality vanishes. With that, the interest dies as well.

I'm sure MGS4 will bring up some more newbies, even for a short time at least. More importantly, it might revive some of the old sites.

The scary part folks, is that we could very well be one of the last. I have conteplated taking MGF down in the past, but seeing the MG community in this state, I see a new need for it. We gotta keep this up, and keep it going.

Those sites definitely earn a big salute. A shame they're all gone now. Your almost the only proper and oldest Metal Gear site around AG, you have a big responsibility. We are all fully 100% behind you. ;D

Metal Gear Confidential: The Mad Jackyl got into some legal problems (because of specific downloads Jackyl had there) with KCEJ's lawyers, and the server that hosted MGC was forced to shut it down to avoid lawsuits.

If there is a future for MGC, only The Jackyl knows.

Well folks, the wheels have been put in motion for the return of MGC. I filed my counter-notification with my hosts' legal lawyer today. I'm a little afraid of what may happen. I will no longer be able to host music, that's for sure (unless I sneakily transfer to another host). I'm trying to hang on to the trailers which I'm sure I'll be able to host (cross your fingers) and trying to hang on to the ROM's until such a time as hosting them cuts into MGS3:Subsistence's market. If not anything, I hope I can have access to my site long enough to retrieve my material, as I don't have a lot of it backed up. Wish me the best.

Well, if the forum layout is supposed to be white and blue then yeah. Works fine.

AG, what kind of Internet browser do you use? Maybe the problem lays there.

I know he has IE. But I think its an old version unless he got a new computer.
