A new idea for the MGF board.

Given all the crap that has happened as of late and the fact that I grow tired of the forum scene, I've been conteplating a new idea for the MGF boards.

I've been thinking of eliminating the whole members posting and discussing idea. Instead, the board will be used to post and elaborate MG and Video game news. Essentially, it would be a news stand. Myself and a light staff would basically find and post news. We can also lightly discuss it and post and elaborate some personal thoughts on it.

But we would not have to be concerend about new members nor hacking. Basically, that means no more discussions.

A possible suggsion would be to keep an open board, one that does not need registration to post there. Let people post and voice their oppinions on the news. This would elimitate the flame wars and all the crap that we've been dealing with.

May not a popular idea, but I think we may be heading in that direction.

Even when there are no threats, this place is still unstable. If I take off for a few weeks, we get the "It's slow topics". I've pointed this out before. The acitvity on this forum should not be determined by my involvement. Unfortunetly, it is.

That's very true, but with the recent hacking it's a risk to make the forum open. And with a closed forum it's more likely to die.

I really dont like that idea.
If your really worried about forum security maybe you should change.
Yes im aware that youve been told that a million times but its the most logical decision.
I dont think the mods would like that idea aswell.

Why dont you just build up more on the site and istead of having a board just for news. Make a larger section on the main site for news.

Hold on a minute AG. You want no more discussions? The way the forum goes on now is fine with everybody. And you can always count on me for finding the latest on MG, don't worry about the news.

And if nobody has to register anymore to post, all hell will break lose, believe me. We just have to stick with the private forum for now, after a while when the calm returns we can turn this forum back to the public.

In my opinion your idea would only make things worse. Sorry fella.
