I've been talking to my Web Production teacher all semester about building sites and a few times mentioned I had one but it was offline...well finally now that my site is back I was able to show him, and this is what he had to say:
Awesome site! I am going to send this link to some of my old students at the technical center where I used to teach. Who did the solid artwork? The artwork is excellent. What did you use for the Time Line, layers? Nice! I have played Metal Gear before but it has been a while. You can't teach computer science students without playing games (Call of Duty 1&2, Warcraft, Quake).
I think that it would be wonderful to design some games and gear them towards teaching educational concepts. This concept is called "edutainment" and I did some research on the topic for my masters degree at VA Tech. MIT also is conducting research using middle school students in Maryland. The students play PC and Play Station based educational games to learn engineering and
mathmatical concepts. It works! Great site! I am glad that your site is back in business. See you on Thursday.
Mr. Jennings
I wrote him back a response and added this at the end:
P.S. - Play Metal Gear Solid 3 if you can! I'd say the storyline, themes and action are on par with anything today's cinema offers - especially the themes. Great Dolby 5.1 sound, as well as quite possibly the best graphics the PlayStation 2 has offered so far. Tough learning curve, though.
---------
So you can guess my teacher is a pretty cool guy if that's his approach to teaching. Plus, he's played Metal Gear - extra cool points there
