Man, is this place dead or what? Anyways, heres a little something. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Monday refused to spare the life of Stanley Tookie Williams, the founder of the murderous Crips gang who awaited execution after midnight in a case that stirred debate over capital punishment and the possibility of redemption on death row. Schwarzenegger was unswayed by pleas from Hollywood stars and petitions from more than 50,000 people who said that Williams had made amends during more than two decades in prison by writing a memoir and children's books about the dangers of gangs." "Schwarzenegger could have commuted the death sentence to life in prison without parole." "Williams was convicted of killing Yen-I Yang, 76, Tsai-Shai Chen Yang, 63, and Yu-Chin Yang Lin, 43, at a Los Angeles motel the family owned, and Albert Owens, 26, a 7-Eleven clerk gunned down in Whittier." The guy has changed alot while in jail. If you didn't know he will be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize a fifth time for writing the children books. So does he deserve to die?

He might be sorry now, but wiriting a few books and apologizing won't excuse or undo the things he is responsible for. Besides, the city of Los Angeles alone has millions of people in it, so a petition with 50,000 signatures is not that much in terms of relativity. And just because someone is on TV or in the movies does not mean their opinion is any more important or valid. What he did was wrong, and he should atone, whereas I usually don't agree with the death penalty, I was not the judge in this case. Williams is responsible for many, many deaths, and just because he says he is remorseful doesn't mean he really is, or that everything is OK now.

Serial killers who have been put to death who "apoligized" while sitting on the chair still were executed. "I'm sorry" means squat when you've killed someone. Saying sorry won't get you off that chair.
And life in prison is a life of lost money.
An eye for an eye.

As I usually say... If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
Snoop Dog wanted Tookie's death sentence reduced into a life sentence, another reason to hate rappers.

Well, I'm against death penalty in general, and I think his sentence should be reduced to life sentence. Whatever the crime, I believe a death penalty is too much. Besides, the criminal kinda suffers more when sentenced to a long time in jail than a death penalty.
Otty, you say that's another reason to hate rappers. Would you bother to mention some other reasons too?

Well done. I'm glad my governer did the right thing and didn't bend to pressure from a very small amount of people with a loud voice. 50,000 people and a few Hollywood douche bags are nothing in a city of millions.
