Hey, I just got an electric keyboard for free, so I was thinking of making some midi with it. Anyone know how?

Dont know how to create it, but i can explain what it is. Midi is a type of sound file which is used on most cell phones as polyphonic ringtones.

Jeeze Blacksnake, Midi has been around since like the beginning of gui-friendly OS's, you've never heard of them?
You probably have, it just esxcaped your mind at the time.

Well I've heard of them, but I haven't gotten to know what they were. Nope, don't know. You can download some recording applications off the net and try to set it up to record as a Midi file. I had an app on my computer that let me record whatever came into the mic. I was mainly using it to record music off of free streaming radio, but I was converting the files to mp3. There was an option for converting to a Midi file, but I can't remember where I got the application.

MIDI is an acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. Sounds a lot like the NES or something, but its actually worse. They use NSF files for NES which are slightly better.

To put it simply, MIDI is all the music on FF7. If you ever hear music that sounds like that, you're hearing MIDI. Most of the time it's made using a keyboard and a computer, but there are other ways of doing it.
