You just have to buy the ethernet adapter which is about $35.

How's your internet service? They don't like small ISP's. make sure you got something big, like MSN or AOL, Cox, whatever. No small things, like PeoplePC or NetZero.
That's for dial-up. Most games are going Broadband only. If that, you probably allready have a big provider, then it's just a matter of dealing with thier stupid set-up disc.

I don't think you need a major company for using broadband/DSL. My friend has his DSL through a local company and has no problem playing SOCOM.

Well i dont know, when I originally bought the modem, i was trying to set up dial-up cause thats what i have. they wouldnt let me through peoplepc. it said not supported.
