A professor from the department of quantum and optical electronics of the Ulyanovsk State University in western Russia has patented a method of making things invisible, Interfax news agency reported.
The so-called invisibility cloak, created by Oleg Gadomsky, is called “The method of conversion of optical radiation” in the patent.
Gadomsky had been long experimenting on nanoparticles of gold. He now claims to have invented a sub-micron stratum of microscopical colloid golden particles that makes an object placed behind it invisible to an observer.
“Only static objects can be made invisible for the time being, as during motion the radiation frequency changes. But soon it will be possible to create a cap of darkness and a magic cloak like Harry Potter’s,” the scientist believes.mosnews.com/news/2006/01/25/capofdarkness.shtmlIt's still in it's early stages. That thing is amazing though! But could cause way more robberies, murders, and rapes. There's another article on Howstuffworks.com. Apparantly, the cloak is only transparent from a certain angle. If you look at it any other way, its visible, just as normal. science.howstuffworks.com/invisibility-cloak.htm

There will never be something as a true stealth camouflage, only in fiction. But it's cool to see people actually trying there best. Who ever creates a 100% stealth camouflage will certainly win the Nobel prize.

electronic camouflage will never happen, atleast not in our lifetimes, in my opinion, this is the best will see www.multicampattern.com/index.htm in some pictures the guy looks damn near invisible, that pattern fits into everything

Optical camouflage will probably never happen. But nice work they've done so far on trying.
