Lets say that MGS4 does end the series (though as usual that's a questionable issue), what will you do? What do you think will happen to the series? What do you think will happen with MGF?
I, personally am not that big of a gamer. As it is, I'm mostly play old games and have very little interest in the new stuff. Life after MGS4 (assuming it is the last) will likely not feature anything new in gaming all together for me. I really can't see myself getting into any other series. I've given up on the wrestling games as regardless how much more detailed they get, I still play the old one from 2002. Naturally I will be replaying various MG titles, as I always do, but I would not be surpised if MGS4 will be my last NEW game. Naturally if there is an expansion I would have to get that. Then there is the PSP stuff... if there is more Digital Novels... though I really hope there will be no other cannon games after Portable Ops 2.
As for MGF... I can really see this site going for at least a year after the MGS4 release. There will be much to discuss and reflect upon if it is indeed the series ending. After that... I really see MGF sinking. With no aniticipation of new games, just about all MG sites will subside. Even TUS will sink ink due time as all those features they do won't amount to anything once the series ends. I have no plans on taking the site down, by any means, but with less and less traffic the account will be terminated in due time. I would've like to have the site last all the way to March 5th, 2011, marking 10 years... but that's a bit of a stretch. MGS4 and it's proper expansion would lead us up into the late 2008. So by early 2009 things will start to get thin. There won't much to talk about anymore.
Knowing that, perhaps we can start now on shifting the forum into a different direction so that by the time the series comes to an end we have a new formula running that is not reliant on aniticipation of new Metal Gear games.
