This forum is WAY too MG oriented for me. Every other topic is MG. I like MG but not enough to discuss it on a daily basis.
I know you don't wanna hear me say it, but thats why I like the soup. they talk about other stuff besides that.
That and we've all talked about MG, MG2, MGS 1 2 and 3 to odeath. We can't talk about those anymore! And i'm avoiding everything about MGS4.

Damn man, if you have a suggestion than make it! You're a dang moderator here, you are more than allowed to suggest new forum sections and ideas! But no... all we get is a complaint or complete absense.
You want other discussion? There is General Discussion board that's hardly used. Why? Who stops you from starting threads like the ones you seem to like on the Soup. Go for it. You want a new forum section specific to something or generalized further, by all means, let me know!
But you gotta speak up man. You can't not suggest something and then dislike when it doesn't happen.

And if we tried to talk about non MG related topics, there just arent enough members to talk about other things. People here post one thing and the other members just shrug it off like nothing. I mean, if I were to make an anime topic, which is something Im very passionate about, I can bet you it wont get more than 4 replies. And most of them will be about how people dislike anime or how theyve never watched anime before, instead of actually talking about it. And I know this 'cause the last topics I made on the General Section got at the very max 5 replies and then they die. Sometimes they get 0 replies. Whats the point in posting stuff that people arent insterested about? Eff it, I say. The problem here isnt that theres nothing to talk about, but that there arent enough members to keep a damn topic alive anymore. Just look at the "Who will win this generation?" topic in the Games section. Its a very discussable(is that even a word >.<) topic that could carry on for a while, but look at it! Dead! Not one reply since my last post. |

You know the funny thing is... I've warned you people this would happen. Years ago! Back when did have a lot of people posting. Everytime I would try to get some brainstorming going about new forum ideas it was pretty much dismissed and I was labeled a drama freak. Well, now you have it. Everyone seems to know the problem and can be very vocal about it, but there is no action what so ever. No suggestions on how to make things work or how to revamp things.
Well guess what, I can't make the forum, only the site. The people make the forum. And if you guys don't put in the effort then... well... you get what we have now.

No action whatsoever? What do you want us to do? Make more topics? Topics that will be ignored and will die within hours? I did make a suggestion, but directly but it was implied; we need more people here. You want suggestions, fine. It'll probably make you mad but here it is: this site is boring as hell. You need to get with the program and provide fans with more intersting things than just information on games. Everybody can find this stuff on Wikipedia. What makes sites succesful nowadays is providing fans what they want. Its a simple situation of supply and demand. Why do you think other sites do better in terms of visitors and members? They offer stuff FROM the games, not ABOUT the games. I know I know, putting up music and videos and all is illegal, there's that whole copyright business, but you dont see sites getting shut down everyday 'cause of it. If you want this place to be more attractive and make it interesting for people, you NEED to make it interesting. It's your site and your forum, it's your job to make members WANT to visit the site and forum. Like Liquid said to Snake, "you're drowning in time," and MGF is being left behind by other sites who change along with the times. This place has been exactly the same since I first came here, it was bound to become deserted like this. Thats true, but 4-5 people CANT make a forum.  Like I said, we need members. Bring more people, and we'll make our job of keeping this place alive. You bring them, we keep them. Dont blame us for the failure of this place. |

I need to make the site "better". I need to bring in the people. And you guys will do the rest, huh? What exactly is the rest?
And don't bring up the site sh*t to me. MGN never had an ounce of content but the forums used to packed. You got promoting idea? By all means, I'm all ears. Got suggestions on how to increase traffic? I'm all ears. But let's have something concrete instead of restating the obvious!
Oh? Like you have in the past? Seems to me that the reason why we are dead is because we DIDN'T keep the people. And this place used to be busy. BTW, nice of you to destribute the "easy" part to me.
I am so sick and tired of everyone looking to me for to make things magically happen. I'm not an internet supernerd that knows all about site advertising and how to hook everything up. I can't even make MGF rank high on the Yahoo search. And yes, I did fix the issue of the image/text thing. The text is under the images so it is tracable by the search engines.
As for the site... I've said it earlier. Forum and Site don't always reflect one another as MGN, and MGF at one point, have proved it. I have a limited amount of space so I can't do all those features. And I am not paying to upgrade the account since, as I look around, it would clearly be a WASTE of money.
The fact is, MGF is not advertised properly in search engines and I dont' know how to do that. So how about you stop pointing fingers at things that don't really matter and come up with some realistic TECHNICAL solutions to the problem. You want more people here, help me make it so. I don't know how to do it.
Put up or shut up.
