DVD burner question

Im not a big tech guy, so I have a small question. I want to buy a DVD burner, so I can burn games, movies, etc. I own a Dell laptop, so what type of burners would be "compatible" with my laptop? I dont wanna go out and blindly buy something that wont work on my laptop. Much thanks.

Any External DVD burner via USB would work fine on your laptop.

But if you want an internal one, you might have to go through dell and order it from them.
