I Am Legend

So, has anyone seen it yet? I just saw it today, and just as I thought, the first half was great and the second half (and the ending) sucked.

I dont' want to ruin it for anyone, so let me know if you've seen it so we can talk about it. The "stupid" things can't be discussed without spoilers.

I saw it. On the IMAX. That and the fact that I hadnt seen any of the previous movies, nor read the book, are what made me like this movie. There were some unexplained parts that I wish they've would've gone into more, but I didnt care for it; the pros overweighted the cons.

In all seriousness though, it looked freaking sweet on the IMAX. Almost as good as the first five minutes of the Batman movie that was shown during the previews (that bank heist was awesome).

OK, so you like it then? I mean, it didn't bother you that:

1. The infected go from mindless drones to setting boobie traps, performing coperative attacks, being able to track, displaying emotion (anger/revenge when Will snagged one of them), leadership displays, and problem solving abilities. And yet they couldn't understand him... That's is the stupidest thing I've ever seen!

2. The "leader" of the "zombies" had three pet dogs!!! WTF!!! On a leash at that!!!

3. No third act to be found.

4. EVERYONE in his family died... the survivors of the movie didn't come in until the second half.

5. The grenade ending! WTF!!! The whole point of a grenade would be to THROW it! Not launch yourself with it! f...ck, the zombies would blow up JUST as well if Will wasn't holding the grenade at the time it blew up. That "sacrifice" was just downright dumb!

Don't get me wrong, Will did a GREAT job, perhaps the best I've seen him do. And abondoned New York look terrific. But CGI was sh*t! I mean the zombies looked like sh*t. And the lions at the begining?! I almost threw up! This was supposed to be blockbuster and the special effects looked B-movie at best...

I'm sorry, but I don't think that the pros outweight the cons, more like the other way around. Here's what I think would've made the move better:

1. A third act and a descent ending!
2. Better, MUCH better CGI!
3. Less CGI all together and more real things. Real lions, real deer, real people in make-up!

The movie, "just kinda ended"... it was like, "huh? it's over?" I don't think the crowd at the theater I went to was impressed. First half was gripping and intelligent. Second half was kinda like "Twin Snakes", over the top and without a point.

God you're worse than a movie critic. You're just too hard to please, and I pity that you didnt have a good time with this movie cause you looked way too much into things. Piece of advice, next time you go to the movies, just sit back and stop looking too much into it. I guarantee you that you'll enjoy it better.

Too much? The things I mentioned are BLUNT! I can't ignore things that are outright stupid. A zombie displaying emotion, luring Will into a trap, setting a boobie trap, and the attacking him with his pets... You don't have to look "too much into" that to see the stupidity.

And like I said, I loved the first part of the movie. Starting with the boobie trap set by a zombie the movie FELL downhill.

Its called instinct. Just how cats eventually know to crap in the litter box, they learned Robert's way. The man captured a ton of them, they eventually learned how to hunt by observing him. Whats so bad about that? And the pets part, Im not even gonna go there 'cause I fail to see what's so bad about that. Seriously, you want everything to be TOO realistic. Its a damn movie, and good one too.

You should be complaining about more important things, like how in the hell did that woman and her kid survive all this time when all she had with her was handgun. Instead you complain about pets? Wow.

Well gee I'm sorry, one slipped my mind!!! But the movie was so full of crap that I guess some just didn't make my list.

a. Was simply expressing his opinion on the movie.
b. Stated the problems and back them up with evidence and explainations.

I was talking about your second post. Take a look at that third post in the topic. It's full of exclamation points, words like f...ck and sh*t. On another note, before someone decides to close this again, I just finished watching "The Last Man On Earth", which is the original movie. Really liked it, considering I know nothing of 1960's cinematography. The story was a lot better than "I am Legend" too. Vincent Price ftw.

And finally, as much as I liked "I am Legend", the TDK Prologue was much better. ><
