So, anyone hyped about this one? I know I am. It's like a MMORPG but with no monthly fees and stuffs. Check out www.guildwars.com for images etc. I'll head for the stores tomorrow to see if they have it.

I was in all of the beta weekends, and it's pretty fun. Paradise for people who love PvP. I'm not gonna get it right away though. The one problem, is that even though there is no subfee, you'll have to pay for all the new features they put up. It's a trade off. Most MM games charge for playing and give the new features (that everybody wants) for free, Guild Wars will allow free play, but you'll have to pay for the new features (that everybody wants)

No, you are wrong there. You wouln't have to pay for every update. The game auto implements every update into the game so that there will never be any need to wait for 2 hours for a big patch; it's constant streaming.
What you will need to pay for are the expansion packs, like Star Wars Galaxies makes you pay for their expansion packs. The only difference here is that you don't have to pay 50 dollars for the game, then 120 per year and then 30 dollars per expansion pack. So you are eleminating the 120 per year fee.
What guild wars plans to do is make one or two new 30 dollar expansion packs per year. What would you rather pay for a year's play: $120 + $50 + $30 + $30 or $50 + $30 +$30?

To be perfectly honest, I don't mind being stuck with a 50 cents a day (about 30 days a month, $15 a month) fee to play World Of Warcraft. I like it better than Guild Wars, and nothing Guild Wars adds in can change that. Guild Wars is fun, but it's not the best.

I do love the dynamic lighting effects they built into the graphics engine. It really does have some of the most lush environments I have seen.
