They released the game first. All of the commercials say "Before you see the movie, live it!"

Why would they do that? I think that if they released the game after the movie the sales could have been better.

How so?
Do you mean that people will be like "Oh man I love Star Wars I can't wait to see the movie!!"
*they go see it*
"awesome! awesome! ...huh? theres a game? OMG OMG IM GONNA GET IT because the movie rocked!!"
If thats what your saying then I think your like wrong.
A fan of star wars would want to get there hands on the game, knowing it is based soley on Episode III. Why? They can get info about the movie before they see it.

Well, I rented the game, and I beat it in 2 hours. I could have watched the movie and had a better time in the time it took me to play the game. It's alright as a game, but it's no Jedi Academy. It's VERY VERY short and pretty repetitive. It has a special duel mode which is fun for about 20 minutes. All in all, only get it if you like Star Wars, and for the love of God, only rent it.

But now you have played the game The Soldier, you already know a lot what is going to happen in the movie, don't you have the feeling you spoiled it for yourself? Since a best way to find everything out is through a movie. And it must have been a short game since you have beaten it in 2 hours, how long did it take you to beat MGS3?
And for Genaside II, all the kids love to play as there movie hero in a game, especially for Star Wars! So my tactic was to first show the movie so everybody will get amazed when a game comes out. Just take a look at The Lord of the Rings games, those sales went great!

Star Wars was based on The Journal Of Whills. I essentially spoiled all of the movies when I read that.

im not a major fan of the series and i always fall asleep durting some of the movies, but Soldier you seem to know a bit, why did Lucas start the Star Wars saga at Star Wars 6, then prequal it to 5 and 4, then waiting a decade and a half later, redoing one of them in '94 with CGI, then in '99 making Episode 1, then Clone Wars in '02 and finnaly the new one Revenge Of Sith, why did he disperse them all out like that? why not have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 instead of 6, 5, 4, 1, 2, 3

Well, for one, he started at IV, then did V and VI. Not the other way around. As for why:
I'm not precisely sure why he started at IV, but here's why I think he did. He started out with Episode IV probably because it's the most interesting of all the stories, and he didn't know if he would get to make every single one.
Then in the 90s he went insane and decided to edit the sh*t out of all his old movies because he "forgot" to put some scenes in. They sucked ass, and there was no rejoicing.
Since he had the money and clout in 1999 he decided it was time to make Episode I. The trailers made it look awesome, but were decieving. It was a piece of crap, but idiots ate it up anyway. So he made Episode II a few years later, and the traielrs played the same trick as Episode I, tricking people into thinking it would be good, and also being sub-stellar.
And now he has finally made the last movie. As usual, the trailers look great, but I have no dubt that I will leave the theater disappointed on May 19.
