I really do, hence my reasoning for starting to leave the gaming arena. The systems get bigger and bigger, and more expensive. So do the games and the gear for the consoles. Not to mention the complexity of the game titles as well. Games today are very long with TONS of crap in them. It would take you days or even weeks to get everthing, and that's if you play all the time. To me, the whole thing is just so big that it isn't even fun anymore. I look at the games I play the most, and they tend to be the older ones, even early PS2. I've been playing SmackDown Shut Your Mourth since 2002, just about every week (and most of the day in each week). It's too expensive, too time-consuming, and in all honesty not as much fun. I really do miss the late PSone to early PS2 era... good stuff, good times. Now it's just so big that most gamers have become jaded. Nothing is really as inticing as it used to be. Besides, too much reality in games isn't always a good thing. Any thoughts?

I give it more time...if games are getting flamed by the government and starting to become more CGI movies flicks with interactive playable parts...we haven't seen anything yet.
The more we improve on our ideas about gaming, hardware and software...the more it will become to say "OMG....MUST WASTE MONEY!!!" or you could just wait for the systems to become 20 bucks in a 3rd party store.

I agree with AG. But I'm not yet at the point I'm going to leave gaming behind me. Right now I'm really looking forward to Empire at War, Twilight Princess and Subsistance. I'll definitly get those games and play them till I almost drop dead.
I have to agree that the last few years the level of gameplay has gone down. Everything becomes shorter, easier and more realistic and beautifull. And I think there's a very simple reason for that: a company called Electronic Arts that is f...cking up the game-industry by constantly making sequels that are identical to previous games and don't add anything to the experience. And of course it's not all EA's fault, I know that. Because of EA other developers must do the same thing: create a lot of games on short notice, hence decreasing the level of the end-product.
I'm just glad that there are still people in the industry like Kojima and Miyamoto that want to create games that are good and add to any previous gameplay experiences we've ever had. And that is worth the wait...
Just keep playing the old games till the occaisional new good game comes out, and gaming won't cost you that much and you'll continue to love it. Works for me...

I don't think the world has gotten too big, I just think that with the increasing popularity, game designers are getting lazier and coming out with concepts that are cool and anticipated, but ultimately let the gamer down due to a lack of polish and follow through. Perfect example: Black, The Movies, Halo 2, etc.

Gaming world right now is more varaites and less depth, I would prefer lesser games with more depth into them anyday. But nevertheless I will allways play videogames, I gotta habit of not quiting my hobbies.

When I will have to pay $1,300 for a PS5, and pay $90 for games alone, it's too much.
