I personally dont like HALO, but its only because I've never liked FPS games. But I gotta admit it's one hell of a game and can see why it's so critically acclaimed. It's just not my type of game.

Halo was a fun game, there's no doubt about that. But Halo 2 ended pretty f...cking poorly. "Alright, Master Chief. It's time for a really badass, epic battle. Lots of cool stuff is about to happen, and the story is about to end. Here we go!" (The End! Go buy an Xbox 360 and wait several years for Halo 3 to come out.)

In all honesty, I do belive that Halo 3 will be good, as good as a Halo game can be in any case. You see, in some respect it has a VERY similar run to that of Metal Gear Solid.
MGS1 and Halo1 - Blew people away and made the names well known in the industry. People salivated for more.
MGS2 and Halo 2 - Hyped BEYOND belief, arguably two of the most hyped games in history. High expectations but both were a let down in some respect and both suffered from an "unsatisfying" ending. Not to mention both introduced another playable character as counterpart to the series standard protagonist.
MGS3 and Halo 3 - Just as MGS, Halo will improve all the flaws from before and come out with a great game that will cement it's legacy.
In the end, Halo is traveling the EXACT path that the MGS series has. I wonder if there's gonna be a Halo 4?
