I recently played Guitar Hero, the guitar rhythm game from RedOctane and Harmonix, and I must say, I'm impressed. There are 5 buttons on the Guitar Controller that correspond to 5 colors traveling down the screen. You hit the buttons that correspond on the screen and flip a little flipper on the main body of the guitar controller that acts like a string. Hell, they put in a whammy bar for some more fun. This game actually makes you feel like you are playing guitar, even though your fingers don't travel across the fretboard. The sheer look and feel of the game is eye candy while you play the game. Good song selection too. If you want to play guitar, but never got the courage or the patience to get one and learn how to play, this is your chance to rock and shred. Be prepared to kiss those fingers goodbye, though. the pain in your fingers will develop in to arthritis. Guitar Hero II is scheduled for release in November for the PS2, with a new Practice mode and Bass and rhythm guitar lines for multiplayer. To me, Guitar Hero is to guitars as DDR is to dancing. A really sh*tty boring game that people who have no chance of excelling at said activity in real life won't stop playing.

Maybe if they don't have any prior experience. I'm with you on DDR, those pompous dicks who gather a crowd to watch him step on four pedals at an arcade. But somehow, Guitar Hero is different.
