I've seen the specs (though I wish Nintendo would have an official list) and these components are much more powerful than the GameCube.

Nowhere close to the 360 or the PS3, but certainly enough to be considered a stand alone system next to the GCN.

With all the stuff that comes with it and what you CAN get for it, I think that more than justifies the $250 price tag.


What I like about this is system, you're getting everything you're supposed to in one box. Not one box having half a system for so much money, then another box have what you should get for more money.

Being backwards compatable with the GameCube, Wii games being made on entire DVD's, and downloadable games, I think we're going to see some great things out of this machine. I can't wait.

Godzilla, Resident Evil, and a slew of other games.. here I come.

Seriously, Nintendo is taking high risks with this new console, but Im pretty sure it's gonna pay off. At this point, I see no reason why I should buy a PS3, besides MGS4. Im a Sony fan, but the PS3 hasnt been that impressive, imo. And the price doesnt help at all. I mean:

$250,00 + $399,00 = $649,00 [Wii60] > $600,00. [PS3]
You pretty much get the best out of both worlds for now, until PS3 really starts to shine (if ever) and does massive damage.

And I hate prople who try to justify PS3's price because of the Blu-ray. From what I've heard and read, the differences between a DVD movie and a Blu-ray movie are barely noticeble. PS3 could've done better without it, I mean look at 360. It's doing just fine.

Get yourself a Wii guys, it'll be worth it. After all, Nintendo has the right idea with the Wii. A gaming console should be a gaming console first, and not some supercomputer with "cell" and all that crap.

1. 360 isn't doing that great. There are very few exclusive games for it, and most people are just buying one because it's the only next-gen on the market.

2. Saying that the differences between Blu-Ray and DVD aren't noticeable is like sayingthe differences between CD and DVD aren't noticeable. Blu-Ray has a much higher storage capacity and is much faster than any DVD. Movies will be veiwable in true HD with Blu-Ray and much bigger games will be stored on a single disc. FYI: Microsoft is going to release an HD-DVD component for 360.

3. Metal Gear Solid 4 is still going to be a PS3 exclusive. So if you want to play it, you're going to have to put your foot in your mouth and get a PS3 or at least spend a lot of time using a friend's.

Even though I'm getting the PS3, I do admit Nintendo played it smart this year. Having a bunch of awesome news releases digged up on the Revolution, such as playing NES, SNES, Saturn games. Then came E3 and they changed the name to "Wii" giving it instant media exposure everywhere. Then TGS came and Wii release a bunch of new playable games, as well as announcing it on November 19, for $250.


That's one tempting offer.
