OK, I want to make a game. Something that would be playable say on a NES or SNES emulator. How would I go about that? Anyone know if there is game making software I could get? A simple 2D game.

If you want to start from scratch, you might wanna get some help from a guy who knows C++ Programming, and someone who can generate some pixelated graphics.

I know someone who could help you, he's making his own game as well. But I cant give you his email since I dont know it. Only way to contact him would be to come to the forums where I know him from and send him a PM and he'll respond to you.

GameMaker is easie to use and you're free to use you're imagination without being limited by the software. But I don't know if the games you make with it can be played on a NES or SNES emulator.

AG, I'll gladly make the music for the game if you would like!
I have fruity loops 7 . . . been needing something to work on.

I would like to see what you can do on that! See my sig? Go to YouTube and type in "Big Guy and Rusty". Listen to the opening credits theme and see if you can make a 2D game equivalent for it. I would love to see what you can do with it.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYY IVE BEEN WANTING TO MAKE A GAME for a while now, but I got over wanting to make 2D games I want to make a full-fledged 3D game, maybe if we can steal the MGS2 engine....and add more memory........we can refine the graphics and change the colors of camo and things like that and create our own type of MGS like game.

That's a very silly notion. Wanting and actually making one are two different things. Jumping into 3D development without experience is rather foolish.
Look, how about we all pull together and see if we can build a simple 2D sidescroller. I can do all the art and concept designs. Gen volonteered to take care of the music aspect of the game. I'm sure he can do all sounds for the game. Now we need assistance with the actual gaming programming, or if there is software that enables you do to that.
Let's see how we do. If it works out, we can follow Metal Gear tracks and evolve what we started.

The game I'm O.K. was a really good 2D game that some guys made in their spare time. If you're new to the whole thing you may want to try downloading a ROM and changing it around a little.

Well, what kind of game is it going to be?
I have some killa ideas but I'm holding on to those for a while, action? Story? Time setting?
How about a kickass side scroller featuring the MGS4 Raiden?

No, nothing Metal Gear.
I want to make a game for that show I gave you a link to. A simple 2D sidescroller shooter. Just to see if we can make it. A test.
