Going along with Anamoly’s thread about favorite games, how about “What Game You’ve played the most”. Ever.
I will give my top 3 as they are VERY close.
1. Metal Gear Solid (PlayStation) – From July 1999 to March of 2001, I would say about at least 80% of the DAYS! Yeah!
2. Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty (PlayStation 2) – From March 2001 when I got the demo to clear into 2002, this game dominated my gaming time. It was the only thing that FINALLY put an end to the MGS1 stranglehold on me.
3. WWE SmackDown Shut You Mouth (PlayStation 2) – 3 years!!! With all the custom characters I made (ranging from myself to Solid Snake), I played this on almost daily basis (a few matches) from late 2002 up until I got my “dream WWE” game SmackDown vs RAW 2006 at the end of 2005.
Those 3 are my all time biggest. MGS1 was a life-changer for me. MGS2 was like a crack-addiction, and that was ever before the game came out! And Smackdown SYM was my big transition into part time gaming, as I could just go in, play a couple of matches, and be done with it.
Currently, the SmackDown type of games is what I play most. Nothing will have the effect MGS1 had on me. Nothing will get me more hyped up then MGS2 did. But Smackdown SYM has since been replaced by the updated SmackDown games and the Rocky boxing (Drago rules!)

I'm there with anomaly.
1. Final Fantasy X 2. World of Warcraft 3. GTA San Andreas
These games are the ultimate time wasters. Final Fantasy X just to beat the game takes months, maybe even years of frustration. I mean, seriously, those bosses are so f...cking difficult to beat. I only took like a 5 month break from that game because one of the bosses took me to the point of almost breaking my PS2.
GTA San Andreas, well, to beat the last mission is about a month or two worth of gameplay maybe. But trying to get 100%, that occupies a large amount of time.
World of Warcraft, well, that game just has so much content and gameplay value that your bent to be playing it for a year or two.

That's not even 13 days... I thought someone here could match the insane grip MGS1 had on me...

That's not even 13 days... I thought someone here could match the insane grip MGS1 had on me... Its not like I played it 24 hours a day. Ive been playing it for years now. You say you've played MGS games for months, even years, but its not like you played it 24/7. If you did, then you had no life And FFX isnt like MGS. You can beat any MGS game in less than a day no problem. Not FFX.

What's so special about FFX? I mean, in terms of why it takes so long to beat it.

I'm not quite sure myself, actually. Games I most played??? As in, what games have I invested the most time in??? I guess it would be... 1.- Super Metroid 2.- Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero (don't ask... I just have weird tastes, ) 3.- Snatcher (Sega CD version) 4.- Contra 3: The Alien Wars. Most of the time, though, I have Steve McQueen's "Bullitt" playing over and over on my DVD player. El Cernex

My list is hard to recall, exactly. It would probably have to go something like this:
1. Metal Gear Solid - Have beaten the game countless times, about as many times I should say as I've seen the movie "Predator" since I was five years old, a good 85 times or so.
2. Final Fantasy VII - I've played about four run-throughs of this. The first was 56 hours, and I got dominated by Sephiroth because I didn't do enough leveling-up or side quests beforehand, obviously. After that, I read through just how many things I'd missed in the strategy guide, started it over and maxed everything and everybody out in about 120 hrs. of gameplay, I estimate (the clock stops at 99:59). Got another run-through of about 75 hrs., and started another this year in which I'm at about 40 hrs. in. So all in all, around 300 hrs.
3. Metal Gear Solid 3: Online - I can't remember my exact amount of hours, but the last I remember, it was about 240.
All the rest are chump change compared to the last, but they'd have to be Chrono Trigger, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, Duke Nukem 3D, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Metroid.

How could I forget.. Smash Bros Melee is second on my list. I need to check the records, but it's well close to 200 hours.
And the third would be Tekken 5. Im still trying to get every character get "Tekken Lord" rank on Arcade Mode. It's tons of fun. One day I went 150+ consecutive wins non-stop. Im trying to beat that record. XD
