So I did that list of fav games by genres. But which is the best game to you so far? Which game is your favorite and why? I just wanna know why your fav game is your fav game. Post even some screens and/or vids to show exactly what you're trying to say. Stuff like that. I like reading people's thoughts when they explain why they like a game so much.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Took the series from it's classic NES side scrolling to the Metroid style that you see in newer installments of the series. To date the castle is one of the largest for the series. As well it introduced the double castle. One inverted and one regular. It also features a Belmont as a boss. Gets complicated and there'd be spoliers so I wont explain. The main character is Alucard, the son of Dracula. His first VG apperance was in Castlevania III. You also fight zombies of his companions (Trevor, Sypha, and Grant) from that game. It also builds off of Rondo of Blood which is finnaly being released in the USA next month. Much of the current features in the series came dirrectly from this one. MP meter, relics, familiars, multiple weapons, equipment, Metroid style, unlockable characters, spells, and a shop. As well as the hardest boss ever. I've tried to beat this guy for the pass decade and have only been able to do it using the shield rod+alucard shield trick. Makes any enemy killable in just a few hits. Here he is: This guy is looking to take over hell. Thats the description for him pretty much. Theres so many extras and little easter eggs that you can easly spend years just playing and finding new stuff. The ring from Lord Of The Rings makes a cameo apperance. The game came out even before the live action movie did. This game is worth even just a once through. Trust me, you wont be regretful at all. Now screen shots! Heres the back cover: And if anyone could help me find a working rom for the saturn version I'd be very appreciative. Everywhere I go it says that it's not avaliable for download. Has more enemies, more items, two new sections, and Maria's playable.

Metal Gear Solid - Playstation - 1998
It's the game I played the longest, and honestly I've posted many times what kind of an impact it had on me. Heck, you're on a board that was a direct result of that game.
It's the greatest PlayStation game EVER! And no, not JUST according to me, but according to many. Including gaming industy giants suck as GameSpy and IGN. ;D

My game is Shadow of the Colossus. Its not a big blockbuster game. Not part of a huge famous series. It's not "the best video game ever!" To me it's sort of an underdog, a game that gained praises from gamers and critics, but didnt get enough attention. It's a highly underrated game because of its design, and it certainly isn't a game for everyone. But I personally think that anyone who calls themselves a gamer should play this game at least once, even if it's just to appreciate the big artistic value it carries. Because that's what this game is to me: art in its best video game form. Like I said, not many people gave this game a try for its simplistic game design. But that's actually what makes this game so great. The only objective of the game is to slain 16 colossal beasts in order to complete a spell that'll bring your loved one back to life. 16 boss battles. 16 gigantic boss battles is what this game is all about. But the boss battles themselves are amazing. I wont even go into detail 'cause I cant explain the feeling you get when you're fighting these beasts. Not only are they exciting and test your brain, but the sight of them is just beautiful. You have to at least stop once and just gaze at them to admire them. The story is very simplistic too, since not everything is answered. However, if you played ICO before, you'd see some connections and understand it better. But if you havent played ICO, the ending and the story itself might be a big disappointment. What I like about the story is that it leaves it all to your imagination. Rather than forcing you a backstory to your head. And even though there is little amount of dialogue, the story is touching enough to make you feel sad. It still ranks as my top best ending, with Snake Eater's and FFX's endings right behind it. Everything from this game, from the music which is damn spectacular to the vast world open to you to explore, is pure art. The game is different any other game Ive ever played, and this change is what has made it a very underrated game. But just how better graphics dont neccessarily make a game better, the low popularity of this game doesnt make it bad. It's one of the best games to ever grace any console. Here are some vids so you can get an idea of what Im talking about. Trailer: youtube.com/watch?v=_vuPyAOH41EIGN review: youtube.com/watch?v=kqgq7Ycp6-sGT review: youtube.com/watch?v=pzO4v5ENov8

I say is a tie between 4 games: Resident Evil 2 (I don't like lying... that was teh' first one I played), Snatcher, MG2, and Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero.
It's hard, for me, to choose between one of them as a sole winner.
Resident Evil 2 because it introduced me to the whole Survival Horror genre that I love so much, and then because it has a GREAT story, classic characters, EXTREMELLY menacing bosses, badass FMVs, and, c'mon, GIANT PORTIONS OF GORE!!!
Snatcher: Best story I have ever "played" in a video game. Simple.
Guess the fact "Blade Runner" is one of my favorite movies since I was a little child ties to this like bread and butter, huh?
Mortal Komabt Mythologies: Sub-Zero: for every hundreds of people that really never got the gameplay, one did. And one of those was me.
I can't explain excatly why I have invested so many damn hours in this game (3 straight months, played it from start to finish EVERY single day), but I just like the characters, the action, and the whole setting overall (and the music is superb)... so mythical and full of blood...
Dunno. One of those addictions you just can't explain, I guess...
MG2: A secret many people don't know, is that I was never a PS1 one guy. I was an N64 guy.
Long story short, when I heard about the whole craziness that was MGS, I completly ignored it. It wasn't until the 2000 that some friends began to mention it, and since I got curious, I began researching and looking for the old games.
Needless to say, I played both MSX titles and finished them both (although I already forgot most of the pathways, as I can't invest too much time in emulation anymore) many times. My favorite??? MG2, duh!!!
THEN I played Solid when I finally got a PS1. And you can imagine the rest.
