MGS4 is definitely THE game of 2008 for me, but I just found something else I am greatly in anticipation for. I am a big Street Fighter II fan, but sadly there was never a version that I could really consider “perfect”. The original SF II was great, but the gameplay is downright annoying! I love the roster and the concept, but it’s just not fun to play. SF Alpha (specifically Alpha 3) had the new style of graphics, animations, and gameplay that is much friendlier and easier to use. But I dislike the roster. Yes, all 17 SF II do appear in Alpha 3, but the SF II stages and music are not there, plus I have to battle Alpha cast which I just dislike. Alas, the prayers have been answered. And updated Street Fighter II is coming out for the PS3 and the 360. EVERYTHING is re-drawn and polished, complete with an HD output!!! This isn’t just a “port”, it’s a complete remake that offers new clarity while still remaining faithful to the original game design. I can’t wait for this title!

This looks fan-frickin'-tastic! One thing though...why another rehash of SFII? I know it's possibly the greatest fighting game ever, but why this just before the SFIV release? It's about as bad as Konami redoing Shadow Moses scenario every few years.

Who knows, maybe because the SF II Anniversary Collection on the PS2 sucked-diddly-aced! I mean, yes, it is a classic, but the gameplay is a pain in the ass! It was in 1991, and it still is. Maybe this update will actually make it as much fun gameplay-wise as Alpha. BTW, I read more on it and it seems to be a downloadable game... so, are we not going to get a regular disk release? That would totally suck! I hate downloadable games! I want an actual disk release.

I've tried real hard to be really glad about this thing, but I just can't: for one, I'm not fan of UDON and I've always considered to art to look "decent" at best. HD or no HD, I simply don't like the drawings.
It's a matter of taste, I know.
I've also tried very hard to undertand how the heck somebody can like SF II but not its gameplay when it was what SOLD THE GAME IN THE FIRST PLACE. If you don't like the gameplay, then what DO YOU LIKE about it??? Doesn't make any sense.
Still, the HD offers two gameplay modes (Just like Turno: one standard SF II mode, and a "new" mode which you all have surely watched in youtube were Ken's shoryuken is almost one screen long), so I don't mind that much.
Still, for me, nothing beats SF II Aniversary collection: the whole roster, all the modes (CHAMPION FOR EVA!!!), all the CPSI and II intros and tracks we all love and cheerish, PLUS, SF III as a bonus!!! How could one NOT like it???
I understand some people not liking SF II gameplay (reason why games like Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, and SNK games became so successful later on), but what bugs me is, if you don't like the gameplay, or if you find it annoying, then why are you playing it???

Guess I should re-phrase it... I like the gameplay... but I feel it's too annoying with some REALLY hard combos (Guile, Zangief!!!!) to make the game enjoyable. Basically, I'm not good and it's annoying because I love the game.
When I look at a game like X-men vs Street Fighter, same moves but they are MUCH easier to do, thus making the game enjoyable. That way I can concentrate on creating a combat strategy instead of fudging with the combos.
