I want to play MGO and while at walmart I noticed they have pretty muc all the ps2 accesories on clearance and there was a network adapter for $25 so I 'm thinking of getting it but I have some questions. On the back of the package the network adapter says it comes with a installation disc that supports most major isp's, I don't use a major isp can I still use the network adapter? I'll ask the other questions after I get past this initial question. Thanks
ok I was reading and they say most isp's work, so I use a local broadband isp called cebridge (I think its local to Texas)
next question is there a way I can hook up the ps2 with a wirless connection because I don't want to run cord all the way across the house, if I can I would rather hook it up some how wirlessly, does anyone have any ideas about this one? I have a laptop which is wirelessly connected then could I connect an ethernet cable from its ethernet port and run it into the ps2 so that the computer acts like a reciever?
I can't actually think of a way to do it without the net card so does anyone have any ideas? thanks again

While that ethernet connection between your computer and the PS2 may work, it may not give you the best connectivity. Meaning you might lag in-game, but I am not sure how much or even if it would affect you. As far as I know, the PS2 has no wi-fi adapters.
About your ISP, you may want to check with them about online PS2 gaming. It should work, however. I've never heard of anyone having trouble with local ISP's.

thanks for the input, I think I found what I'm going to do. I found a wireless ethernet bridge I'm going to connect to it its only $20 bucks so if I can find one of those locally then I'll use that. My inet doesn't lag at all usually, so thats not really a problem because I'm always playing halo and warcraft 3 on it and theres never any lag so I don't forsee a problem there.

well I haven't got one yet because I haven't got my ps2 on my home network yet but when I do I'll either be BBGenesis or psecody. Right now I'm trying to get all the stuff I need to add the ps2 into my network, I got to get my games back from my friend he borrowed them and has had them and my memory card for about a year so I got to go get those tommorrow before he leaves to go move into the dorms. Next I need the network adapter and a wireless ethernet bridge I can get the net adapter at our walmart but I don't know about the bridge because we live in a tiny town (little over 5000) that doesn't stock much as far as anything remotely similar to technology is concerned we'll see though. I'll tell ya'll my name and stuff when I do get online though.

I go online using a Linksys router, got the PS2 connected through an ethrnet wire. I can go wirless but less hassle IMO, since the router is closeby why waste extra money.
