My G/F definetly has the right idea. She is a big fan of the show Desperat Housewives. James Denton's character Mike is PERFECT replica of Snake. He is a badass and has the grouchy look. In appearance he is the perfect Shadow Moses Snake. Simply PERFECT! Even the voice is on par with David Hayter. img.timeinc.net/people/i/2005/gallery/sexyfalltvguys/jdenton.jpgDo an image search on James Denton to see more pics. I think he is the perfect Snake.

Woah, I like your suggestion, Arsenal! I mean...look at those guns, the dude has the physique, no question. Holy hell does he look like him! The more I look at the picture, the more I see it. Also, my gf is hugely into Desperate Housewives. Which reminds me...
[off topic] I don't think I've mentioned that I've had a girlfriend for the past two months. Happy Valentine's to all of you in a relationship. To all those who aren't, I know the pain/disdain/care-less-feeling all too well. This is only my second V-day having an actual Valentine. [/off topic]
I would say Christian Bale, who I know has the acting chops, though his gravely voice [remember in Batman Begins?] isn't the best realized "Snake voice". I don't care too much for the voice, however, as long as I get a good sense for the character from the actor and it isn't too upbeat. My second choice would fall to Hugh Jackman. Yeah, yeah, say all you want about that choice.

For me Hugh Jackman works, but the only problem I would have with him would be the fact that he is Wolverine. I'm sorry, but he is already set in my mind as Wolverine so I can't have him be someone else too. It's like if they had Christopher Reeve play Batman. You just can't do that.

Why, so we can get another Mario Brothers-caliber film? Nice tricep BTW. What do you lift?

Actually, I heard somewere that in an interview Christian Bale was quoted saying that he was interested in playing a character "that had a bandana and a mullet", but that was the only refference he EVER mentioned, and he never mentioned it again, for some reason.
Since I'm a retro ass, I say to hell everybody and bring back the original Snake, Michael Biehn. XD
He was badass in "The Terminator" anyway. And it would be good to finally see him SURVIVE a friggin' movie.
