I was having a discussion with my friend earlier today about which game we thought were the best fighting games. So just wanna see people's choice here.
I have quite a few, but my all-time favorite is Killer Instinct for the SNES. For some reason, I enjoyed that game the most and to this date even the new modern games havent satisfied my fighting need like KI did.

Battle Arena Toshinden II, an early PlayStation game, is tied with Street Fighter 2, and by that extension Street Fighter Alpha 3. That's my opinion. I can still have fun with SF2 if I pop that in my old SNES.

Well, the game that I owe Metal Gear to is actually Bloody Roar. That was the reason I bought my original PlayStation back in 1999. Even though later installments in the series improved many things, I simply love the cast and simple system of the first. So, Bloody Roar 1 for me. As Gado the Lion I am unbeatable! In fact, I once beat my sister, who is legitimetly a good BR player, with my eyes closed. No joke. As Gado nobody can touch me! The Official Web is still up to this day: www.us.playstation.com/PSone/Games/Bloody_Roar/OGS/Also, Street Fighter II. Arguably the greatest cast in history of fighting games.
