Not "The new Metal Gear", but "A new Metal Gear" Hear me out: "A" = Apple/Acid "!" = Ac!d Upside down "!" = iPhone What I think? Metal Gear Ac!d for iPhone  I hate how people jump to the conclusion that it has something to do with MGS4 going 360. |

Who said anything about MGS4 going to the 360? The circle logo is a "power button" logo on both the PS3 and the 360. Sounds to me like YOU are the one jumping to a conclusion.
As for it being Acid... maybe. Time will tell. Though I wonder why they would bother with a teaser like that for a game that proved to be unsuccesfull in the past.
Also, look at the "mgst" in the address. What could that stand for?

My bet is on Metal Gear Ac!d Touch. All and all (and this is me talking), I doubt this is some sort of super-secret MGS4 port gibberish, mainly because if that was the case, Kojima is too cynic NOT to make that power sign red.
If you have a 360... or you read any standard gaming blog, you know what I'm talking about.

I've been on several gaming sites and they all take this as proof of MGS4 going to 360. I was refering to them and their readers. Anyway... I doubt this is like the next big MGS game. Why would they announce "MGS5" this way? |

It's way too fast of an announcement for another MGS game, if Kojima was planning to make one. It would make it seem like it was thrown together fast, which I don't think is what Kojima does with MGS titles. This made me chuckle though: kotaku.com/5103479/anagrams-solve-a-next-metal-gear-riddle |

For starters we can discount the port to 360. If they were going to they would have "announced" it in a more open fashion. Why? Most people will look at this and go WTF and move on. No, this is only for those who have a real interest in the series. I think the use of "A" instead "The" is interesting. Translation problem, or something else. Normally you would say "the" next whatever, to use the word "a" instead seems that there is more than one, duh you say there has been. But maybe this time, in a different form and more than one at one time. Which is why we're getting this little equation. Plus no number, new series, new direction or simply a break with the past. Crucial though that there is no number. Perhaps a closer study of the MGS mythology will reveal something. However I can't help feeling that at the moment it's all just breadcrumbs and we'd be stumbling around in the dark, it may make sense later. Or could be complete misdirection, classic MGS in a way. It is a game that has it's roots in stealth, not action.

Yeah, pretty much.
The upside down i points in MGA's direction, IMO though. Then again the use of "a". More patience to be had if you still have interest after MGS4.

I still say it isn't very feasible technologically speaking, for a port to come to 360, but that green power ring DOES look like the 360 power button. I think the series will need a fresh perspective and not be a prequel of sorts for it to garner any real interest. It might even be an awesome game! However, I just wish that Metal Gear wasn't included in front of the name...what really could it have to do with Metal Gear, after all?

The circle logo is ued on a just about EVERYTHING. PS3, PC, TV... check it out. It's not exclusive to the 360.
