The gameplay in Versus is in real time, no menues. They compared it to Devil May Cry. So hack 'n slash with heavy RPG elements. Sounds good in my opinion.

The graphics are probably the best I've seen on a console video game. I haven't played any Final Fantasy game since FFX though, and I think that had the best FF story. I don't know though.

But those graphics are mostly prerendered. I heard someone say there's about ten seconds of in enginee graphics in that trailer, but I don't know what ten seconds those are.
So it's a bit early to say anything about it's looks.

FF always had nice cutscenes. Even as late as FF 12. I got that for my G/F. A 2006 game and the gameplay graphics were worse than MGS2!

I stopped playing FF after the great disappointment FF X gave me. I mean, after 6, I don't know what happened to the story department at Squeenix... I just, really, don't know.

What do you think about FF XII? I'm not a big fan of the series but I've been playing XII quite a lot and I'm actually enjoying it. I've read that fans are disapointed in the lack of "sould" and there might be something to that I think. |

I find Final Fantasy VI, VII and X the best of the series. Their turn-based games are disappearing, which is sad to see. How can you call it to be Final Fantasy if it's in real-time? |

Ive yet to play a Nomura game that didnt suck, this will probably be no different. Guy's working in like 4 differnent games at the time. You cant expect good quality on his games when none have his undivided attention. Thats like puttin Spielberg to direct 4 movies at the same time.
Im more interested in FFXII, which the gameplay for looks awesome.
Btw, Square needs to hire someone else to do the character models. All of Nomura's characters look the same. In that trailer and in in FFXIII, I could see people from AC. f...ck, that Versus main chareacter looks like Cloud except his hair is f...cking black
