Anyone herd of this fitness program? Well, we got it and yesterday was DAY 1!
There are many ads for this program and I after review it and actually stating it, I recommend it. But only if you are ready to commit and get your ass kicked! My and my g/f have been weightlifting for 2 years now and yesterday kicked our asses! All the various pullups and pushups... alternate ways to lift weights... man! Today I feel like I got hit by a bus!
The program is set for 90 days. You work out 6 days a week and the prorgram changes. There are 3 phases to the program, each one is 4 weeks.
Should be interesting. The ending result is... well... superman. And after experiencing first hand the 2+ hours of tourcher, I believe it!

Ive seen the system that Tony guy uses. Its a good workout program, but my fitness regimen is if not just as hard as his workout program if not even harder. I use alot of the same workouts he does, im not knocking it, "his" suposed theory about muscle confusion...lmao has been known for quite sometime and I came to the same conclusions he did on my own!!! REGARDLESS that P90X program isnt cheap by one bit so obviously how is it not going to work? you know. Anyway keep up with the updates.
OH and I dont use weights...I think we had this conversation before.....I'm more about the Combat Conditioning training style myself but still I wouldnt knock the P90X workout program.

I'm expecting some interesting results here. My Day 1 photo is just as good if not better than most of the Day 90 photos I've seen. I have two years of heavy weightlifting, so the final product for me should be interesting. I'm with you on his program critique though. I already change a few things and improve on a few routines he does. And... well... I do my best to up the weight on all the exercises. I can already do most of his weightlifting exercises using 50 lb dubmbells instead of the 25's he using. Currently I'm 230 lbs with 17" arms. I'm projecting to go up to 250 by the time I'm done. I know I'll be gaining muscle given my approach to his routine.

Woah, AG. You're gonna get diesel! I've tried so hard to get to 200 lb., but I want to be lean too, and the best I've done is 188. I just got finished running 3 miles at a grueling pace...ah, the calves are stiff! I couldn't do the P90X due to the amount of time you need to dedicate to it. I just wouldn't be able to be that unwavering in my training due to my schedule.

Well, back in early 2006 I actually was 188 lbs. But then I got an office job (instead of "on your feet" retail) and my weight peaked up to 200 lbs. Naturally, not it a good way. I remember noticing that it was harder for me to move around... So I made the decision to start working out, and hard. In the past I would do something for a few weeks, then it stopped. Well, I stuck with it for two years. My weight continued to go up, but no longer in my belly. My shoulder and arms expanded and I started lifting weights I never thought I could. Most of my exercises are done with 50 lbs dumbells now.
Oh no doubt. That's how we got it for free. A friend of hours bought it but realized he simply did not have the time. So, he gave it to us. Great gift. But even now we are struggling to make time. The daily routines vary vrom 1-1.5 hours. But that's ONLY if you go at their pace. We gotta take small breaks and some exercises we have to pause and take turns doing. So when it's all said and done, we usually look at 2+ hours. Not easy, but we are trying to stay focused.

Alright, we're are officially half way through the 13 week program! I tell you what, it's working! It's very time consuming, at times taking up to 2.5 hours. But we made a commitment and we're sticking with it! My strength has increased. I freely use 50 lbs dumbells for many of the workouts. My abs and lower back have gotten SO MUCH stronger! No more back pains! No six pack yet, but I have little doubt that I'll have one by the end of the program. My girlfriend, on the other hand, ALREADY got hers! I'm so jealous! But she is the Ab Queen! Even before the program she was able to do 150 situps on an incline bench! Here are the current progress pics: 6'1 and 230 lbs! 5'5 and 140 lbs

Good job, man, keep going. Do you do any sort of cardio, or is the P-90X covering that too?

The program got it all. Kempo is probably my favorite one. Plyometrics is good one too. Though heavy weightlifting is what I enjoy to come back to the most. The biceps workout has a really great move at the end. Strip Bicep Curles! You take 4 sets of dumbells. Now, by this point you're already tired. I don't have full set of dumbells, so it's not a gradual decrease. Anyway, 8 reps with 50's, then 8 reps with 35s, then 8 reps with 25's, and finally 8 reps with 20's. Normally I can practically juggle 20's, but by that point they feel like they weigh a ton! LOL
The thing I like the most is that I have no more back pain. This really strengthens your core. I used to have issues with my lower back, but it's fading away. It is a good program and I would recommend it to everyone. There are different program layouts too. You can do the regular, heavy (mostly doubles) and slim.
I am proud to see what my g/f has accomplished too. She really hangs in there with the pushups and the pullups!

So I'm assuming this program is for people who are actually in shape?

In a way, yes. It is a tough workout. You have to be able to do some pullups and some pushups, but there are way to mod. You can do pushups on your knees and pullups with one foot on a chair. The biggest thing is the time. Be ready to commit to a good 2 hours of ass kicking, 6 days a week for 3 months.
You have to want it to do this program. You can't take "breaks" whenever you feel like it. You have to keep up with the schedule or it won't help you any.

Well, today we finally finished the program. I gotta say, it was a long 3 months! But overall, it was well worth it. My muscle measurements and definition have improved and I know I shed a lot of fat. I gained an inch and half in my biceps, and inch in my calves and an inch in my thighs. I also lost inches off my waist. More definition in general. And even with all that muscle gain I STILL lost 14 lbs in overall weight! So... it works. Here's my January 5th vs April 5th picture comparison: Great program. We'll take a break from the routines as they do get repetetive and take some time to go back to some of our own routines. With the summer here, we plan to do a lot of swimming as well. Then towards Fall, we'll likely go through the program once more.

Sweet! How many pushups do you think you can do now?
Oh, and one other thing.
A common misconception is that muscle weighs more than fat. After all, what weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks? Being more muscular will help burn fat quicker too, as muscle requires more energy to maintain.

Honestly, I never tried for a max when I'm fresh. I do them (many kinds) during the various program routines, at which point I do 30. But that's mixed around other exercises, so I'm never really fresh. But I can do a few one-arm push ups now! It's hard because my torso is so heavy. Well, I know, but that's not the point I was making. I gained muscle volume. If everything is equal, I loose fat and gain muslce my weight won't change that much. But if I gained so much muscle mass and STILL lost 14 lbs in total weight... there was a lot of fat burned. Like I said, I guess at least 20 lbs. I'll probaly go back to some heavy weight lifting for a while. I kinda want 20" arms now... ;D
