That's right, either everyone in Japan already bought a Wii or they are finally realizing that PS3 is simply a better machine. www.gamespot.com/news/6209095.htmlThis article states that the PS3 sold 108,530 units while the Wii sold just 67,116 units. I had read last month an article stating that for the first time ever, PS3 had outsold the Wii in Japan, and this trend is seemingly continuing.

Well, the Wii is a joke. My g/f has one and it's hardly used. Yeah, it's fun for a night with friends to play some wacky sports game. Outside of that it's a dust collector. The graphics are cheesy in most of the games and the whole concept just got old.
I use my PS3 more often now then I did when I first got it. It's what I said before. The average user's entertainment center is starting to climb up to the PS3. More people have HDTVs and Blu Ray is getting more and more mainstream. Frankly, I'm not surprised.

Lol, well yea everyones got a Wii now hardly anyones buyin it. Now PS3 and 360 sales have nowhere to go but up. Applying the same logic, a generation (and perhaps a half) ago back in '99/2000, Sony was just killing it out there with the PS2. Once the market reached saturation (everyone having a PS2), the Dreamcast's sales had nowhere to go but up, but that didn't happen. There were different market conditions to account for, but still. The Wii and PS3 were both released in November of 2006, while the Dreamcast was launched 18 months before the PS2.

The PS2 was a revolution in every sense. The system was affordable, popular with a great library of games, and revolutionary graphics and gameplay. As fun as the Wii was, it lags in graphics. No matter how many times I hear, "graphics don't matter"... yes they do! I don't care how great the motion sensor on the romote is, if the game looks like something just marginally above the PS1, I'm not interested.

Graphics dont matter. Echocrome is just a stick figure in a white background and game's fun.

Keep in mind the awesome Nintendo back catalog available on the virtual console. That's a big selling point!

Maybe not to you, but clearly you're in the minority on the subject. If graphics didn't matter than the whole industry would've been trying to improve them. Sure, there are cases when the game just works well, despite it's flawed graphics. But in the majority cases graphics are a big selling point, and always have been, even in the 2D era.
Nintendo Wii has little to no eye candy in regards to games. A casual game is just that, a casual gamer. They will pick up a couple of games and will occasionally play them. But these people aren't going to be on the look out for the newest additions to the Wii. The honeymoon is over for the Wii. It was a long one, but it is over. Now the novelty is fading away and people are seeing the console for what it is...
