I think Otty snapped! LOL ;D I agree with you, there is no need for it. But if it cancels out MPO, it's worth it! Damn, "worth it" stays quite short. If you ask me, its a bloody necessity. As long as Payton's little bastard child is off, I'm good. And if its get replaced by a Kojima game, I'm even better. |

But seriously... before you know it we got a couple of more tie-ins with the saga. Just when you thought everything closed up perfectly. *sigh*
Tell me, tell me what he possibly wants to achieve with this game? What is there we don´t know already? And even so, isn´t it fun to have some cliffhangers here and there. That keeps it alive among discussions, theories, etc.

Look over some of the things I've written here about Peace Walker. You're right, there is no logic for Kojima creating this game. None. It is not the "next one". A portable game never is. "Rising" is the next big title in the franchise. But Kojima isn't directing it. Instead, he's directing a game for a 5-year old handheld system that never has and never will lead the market. Seems a bit strange! Hardly a cash cow of a system and definitely not the next big installment. So why make it? Let's look at the facts:
1. Advertised as a sequel to MGS3, set 10 years after. Strange... not once did they mention MPO.
2. Advertised as the "major installment" and not a spin-off or sidestory. First time on the PSP. Really?! I thought that was MPO!
3. Set in the 70's! Now why would we do that when we already have an installment in set in that decade? Why not tackle the 80's?!
4. Kojima confirmed that the concept of Peace Walker was concieved during the development of MPO but he felt the team was not ready to tackle it on their own.
Just seems rather strange that all Peace Walker advertisements seems as subtle backhand slaps to MPO.
