OMG, talk about an overated game! The graphics are worse than MGS2! And the linear path sucks! You can deviate, not even a little. Can't explore, can't interact with the environment. Can't have fun. You can play that game ONE way and ONE way only. Games like that are just plain boring!
Just finished the demo to see what all the fuss was about. "Pushing the PS3 to it's limits"... LOL Yeah... OK.

Aw, man, I had high hopes for this game. Graphics are worse than MGS2? Man, I hope for the demo's sake they left a lot out, because I was really looking forward to this hopefully being the last installment in the series.

My opinion is always influenced by Metal Gear. That's the level of game design I'm used to, so most games don't measure up.
I just replayed the demo... and it was boring. I mean you can't do ANYTHING but fight and move forward in a linear manner. That's it. Every fight is the same, every time. You can't experiment, you can't have fun, you can't do it "your way". To me it was lame.
And I really wan't impressed by the graphics. I don't understand why people are all "oooh" and "ahhh" over it. Not really that great IMO.

Are you f...ckin serious, do you even HAVE eyes? EVERYONE with even one eye has seen the graphics are some of the best of the PS3. Judging a game by a last year demo? Seriously? Wow.... And this isnt MGS obviously, it's a pure action game. OLD SCHOOL FUN where you move from one area to the other and wreak havoc your way. There's no exploring because theres no need to. Why does everyone think that ALL games have to have exploring of freedom to have fun? Super Mario Bros is still one of the best video games in history and it's sidescrolling linear! Dude, I didnt think you could be any more of a prude but take that MGS dick out of your ass and learn to appreciate and ENJOY games already. If you keep comparing sh*t to MGS, you're gonna die a sad pathetic man. I feel really sorry for you. I do, I really pity you. I cant imagine how hard it will be on your kids if they grow up to like a game like MW2 and all you do is complain and tell 'em how it's "not good enough." Jackyl, sorry, but excuse this Old Snake wannabe's bitching, but you'd be missing out on a great game. Especially if you've played the past two. I just beat it on normal, tons of fun from beginning to end. What I love about a GoW game is the constant adrenaline of action. The boss battles are damn awesome, Hades being one my favorites. The first minutes of the game though, holy sh*t, I dont think I've ever experienced such an epic intro before. As Kotaku puts it: I LOVED Santa Monica Studio sticking to their guns. Nowadays, every big series video games seems to fall into the "we gotta have multiplayer!/we gotta make it a sandbox!" routine. From Uncharted, to Bioshock, to anything! Just to rack up those extra bucks. They decided this would a simple single-player experience the first two were known, and just make it more epic, and never deviated from their plan. What I didnt enjoy as much was the story. It was a lot more simplier than the other two, since this time it's a simple war against the gods. If you wanna go by a man who denounces just about any game just cause it wasnt made by Hideo Kojima's brilliant mind, then by all means skip this game. But then I wouldnt know who to pity more, that man or you the person who listens to that man. The game is pure fun, simple as that. The only other games I've had more fun playing on the PS3 are Uncharted and Bayonetta, but Bayonetta is a WHOLE different ballgame on a whole different level of gaming. Might just make a topic about it.

Wow... where is that coming from? Well, if you READ my first post and look at the DATE of the post you will see that it was about the demo and before the game was released. My opinion was based on what I played. And the demo didn't impress me. First of all, if you are going to get that riled up about something so meaningless, then you're the one that should be concerned about being "pathetic". Cause you're dancing all over that defintion in your post. Second, I can compare anything I want to aything I want. That's my privelage as a human being. Why does that style of GOW suck IMO? Because it's boring! You can play it only one way, EVERY time you play it. I don't like games like that. And as such, I will compare it to MGS, a good mix of exploration and linear storytelling. LOL First of all, I pitty you for having such a low grasp of life to gauge child upbringing based on video game opinions. And second, if it ever came down to games, I would strive to promote quality instead of mindless crap that AVERAGE gamers like you deem to be "COOL". "Here kids... play this lovely blood bath game where you tear of heads and slice everyone open. But it's good 'ol fashion action gaming though and people think it's cool!" Please! Who are you to lecture anyone with idiotic statements like that! If anyone is going my opinions then I have to laugh. People should pick what they like, not what they are told to get. I don't appreciate your uncalled-for comments about me in this thread as they are completely inacurate. I don't support everything Kojima does. And I back up every comparison I make to Metal Gear, as well as state why I did so. I played the demo and gave my opinion of the demo. I don't plan on getting the game. I check out the plot of GOW 1 and 2, and it was laughable. I also don't like slasher games as they are pointlessly brutal with plot that would only captivate the most simplistic of minds. As for your pitty and your life lectures based on my video game preferences (LOL still laughing about that one), I'll take my advise from a more credible source than you... like a wedge of cheese! Get all butt-hurt because I don't care for GOW3! LOL Grow up!

Bayonetta is a WHOLE different ballgame on a whole different level of gaming Already finished it twice (finished Bayonetta 6 times and twice on climax) and this is what i agree with ^ Other than that, well, Gow3 looks nice, it has mostly great textures and lighting, a couple of bosses are impressive looking and the motion blur really adds to the IQ, but that's about it. The animations are extremely floaty, Kratos is incredibly unresponsive compared to the likes of DMC4 or Bayonetta, the motion capture is very low quality, the cinematography is practically non-existant, the VA is weak and forced and the story as you said is mediocre at best. Of course, many people don't care about those things but nudity, gore and easy 1000 hits combos and Gow3 is the perfect game for them.

I'm about to start on my second playthrough of GOW3 and I really liked it, except some of the ending. I didn't quite get the closure I needed. VERY well done game, though and can be very in parts even on easy difficult levels (diving down or up the lengths of the Balancing Chains...ayyee..) Visually amazing and the scale and breadth of this game is staggering, even more so than its predecessors.

I thought that the ending was shown at the beginning of the first game, you know, when he...

Ha, more like leap of faithless. "The Gods of Olympus have abandoned me..."
I think everyone who owns a PS3 should pick up GOW3. The scope of the game is very huge, has awesome cinematics, very cool stuff chosen straight out of Roman and Greek mythology and is even fun to watch while someone else plays! There is a certain amount of incentive for replay value as well, though no one is going to top MGS4's replay value.
