Yeah, there was one other website where this admin had 80000 karma and I had negative for no f...cking reason...this is really detrimental...  |

I'm not even sure why people would use those karma points. What would motivate someone to click someone's karma for positive points? It's not like you can see who gave you positive or negative points, so what's the idea of it, then? Is it so you can feel good about yourself? That's absurd...

Obviously. I mean, it really is quite ridiculous. It's merely there to make somebody feel that the other people enjoy having a certain member's presence. In fact, some guy had a really high level and I got minus something just at the expense of everybody else's laughs. Come on, is it really ethical to give a person negative values only because that member is hated? How damaging is it to the person who has a negative value? What about those who give that person negative value? Where is their conscience? And what's more, can't the staff stop such cyber - bullying? On the other hand, if they give negative values just because I'm different, why does everybody pick on that member with minus karma? I personally feel disgusted at the fact that a staff gives a normal member positive value only because 'his signature was nice' and I got minus something for no reason whatsoever. It is really very childish and sad to think that this system is made to force those who have positive value to feel good while others gather minus karma only because other people have ganged up to make that person feel bad. www.syphonfilter.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=site&action=display&thread=2687It definitely beats me what drives others to apply a positive or negative value to a particular person's karma value. |
