Conviction sucked so hard. It took everything that made Splinter Cell cool, cut it down drastically, and offered lame action focused gameplay in return.

I remember in one trailer they showed him shooting out the lights to make the place darker. And people where like "oooh, that's cool". Ahem, MGS2! lol

That is something I love about MGS2. Many things that next-gen games are trying to accomplish now were accomplished by this game back in 2001! 60 fps, awesome graphics, realistic shadows, face animations, everything!

I always hate how people forget that. MGS2 does not get the credit. Eveyone seems to focus on Raiden and the plot. Yeah, it could've been done better. But on a technical side the game was years ahead of it's time. I still remember seeing the ice cubes melt at the bar on the Tanker... wow! you could shoot each one separately! And the ones closer together melted slower than the ones further appart! LOL Only Kojima!

Especially since MGS2 isn't the earliest case of a video game where shooting out the light makes the place darker. Just because it came before that Splinter Cell game doesn't make it worthy of all the attention, either.

No, it's just the earlier case of it done well where the whole game looked realistic.

Splinter Cell had its moments, but Conviction really didn't felt like a stealth game at all.
For that reason alone, I didn't care about it and still don't.
