You may not know it, but a new MGS trailer was released tonight. Except, it wasnt shown as MGS. Instead, it's being called "The Phantom Pain." But they're not fooling anyone, it's Metal Gear.
First, watch the trailer. I cant link it since im writing this on my cell.
Watched it? Cool.
First, tell me that guy didnt look like Snake. From his hair to beard to the bandage covering his right eye where the eyepatch should be.
Second, very cryptic trailer. A staple of Kojima's games.
Third, not too long ago, Kojima stated in an interview that he was bringing back a dead character in a future MGS game.
Fourth, at one point in the trailer, you see Volgin surrounded by flames. Yes it is volgin. Pause the video and google a Volgin reference pic. That's the dead character being brough back to life.
Fifth, the studio allegedly making this game is called "Moby Dick Studios". Not only are they a no name studio, they have also never made ANYTHING before. For a nobody studio to get treatment special enough to reveal their first game ever on a huge show like VGAs is hard to believe. There are connections there, and Kojima is real friends with the executives of the show.
Sixth, like Metal Gear Rising being a new breed, "MGR" instead of "MGS", Moby Dick Studio could stand for "MDS", "Metal D____ Solid", something new. This is merely opinion on my part though.
Seventh, remember Ground Zeroes's tagine! "From FOX, two phantoms were born." And title for this is "Phantom Pain." Coincidence? I think not!
Eight, the founder of Moby Dick Studios is called "Joakim Mogren." Joakim? Hey isnt that an anagram for "Kojima"? And his last name, "Mogren", has "ogre" in it. "Project Ogre" anyone?
The only question is, was this a cryptic trailer for Ground Zeroes or is it really a new Metal Gear? Only time will tell!
LAST MINUTE UPDATE: as soon as i finished writing this, people from the gaming press started tweeting about the Konami party in Hollywood, spotting Kojima talking to people wearing Moby Dick Studios shirts!
