Uncharted 3 suffers in all aspects. The gameplay is glitchy. The action sections got ridiculous. I mean, in U2 we had the train. But in U3 they overdid it. The story also suffers, as do the villains. Nothing beats Lazarovich! Plus the Elena stuff got repetitive. Hook up, break up, hook up, repeat...
I love 2. 1 was good but I actually like it even more now on the PS4. It's a lot more comfortable to play. Haven't gone through 3 on the PS4 yet. Maybe I'll like it more...

In 3 you get easy bits that suddenly skyrocket in difficulty. There are missile launchers, shotgunners, riflemen... If you move, a sniper caps your ass. But stick behind cover, and a CQC-specialist will nail you.
Then we have the unbelievable location-jumping without any real justification or warning. And yes, then comes the lacking character development.
If you were nitpicking about the graphics or audio, it built on the previous games. But in other aspects...sigh... it seemed rather rushed.

Just finished UC3 yesterday. Overall, I agree with A.G. They overdid it. What annoys me in so sinking ship and crashing plane is, that Nathan can no longer be controled properly, which results in a number of deaths, since enemies have no problem with finding their own path. However, I did like the chase sequences and the few drugged Nate moments. I also think it was funny, that this time the monsters weren't real but a figment of Nates imagination. And the chapter when Nate is wandering through the desert and slowly succombing to despair is one of the most meorable moments in the trilogy imo. But still, this feels more like the B team working on the game, while the A team was working on The Last of Us. Overall still a solid game but not quite on the same level as 1 and 2. @ Cerberus: you have difficulty spikes in all games. The differences is that 1 and especially 2 don't have these cheap unfair trial-and-error moments where you have no realistic way of anticipating an unfairly placed enemy or something. Plus the melee combat was swift and smooth in those games and there was no problem in taking out a few enemies with melee combat while in a firefight, but in UC3 they had to have an Arkhamesque melee system and trying to take out an enemy with melee just took way too long, especially since no real skill of you is involved (mash the square button, wait until the triangle button prompt appears, press the triangle button, continue mashing the square button, rinse and repeat and occasional mash the circle button when the promt appears) and people kept firing on you, resulting - again - in a number of unfair deaths.

That is indeed a strange glitch. Perhaps the game only wants you to use certain weapons for a specific combat area? Maybe that was only in the PS4 collection and not in the original game. I played UC3 dfor the first time in this collection. Especially granade launchers and shotguns were a problem. I think in UC2 I had this issue a couple of times with grenade launchers, but it was way more noticable (and annoying) in UC3.

Well, personally I started with UC3 on the PS3 and if I DID encounter the glitches you mentioned previously, I don't remember when they occurred. Nonetheless, I generally remember my weapons staying the same unless I physically changed them out, so the instances when 'oh sh*t [insert cliche weapon] would have been a LOT better' was rarely an issue.

What was interesting is how frequently the bad guys in UC3 would not react to getting shot. I would fire several rounds into him and he did not react until I killed him. Happens in the majority of the firefights. Makes me think to how careful MGS2 was to such details. In fact, going through MGS2 now. The game is almost 15 years old and a true pioneer in the industry.

Well, Kojima did a real good job with getting MGS as realistic as possible. Enemies are heavily armed and wear flak jackets or explosive armour as you increase the alert level. They also search hiding places more thoroughly on Hard or Extreme.
