Yup, made my decision. I went through this with Metal Gear so I have no interest in doing it with The Last of Us. Given the fan backlash over the leaked footage I had to check it out. And I’m glad I did. The character treatment in this sequel is unacceptable! I will vote with my wallet and not support Naughty Dog. My first thought back in 2013 when the credits rolled on the first game was “please don’t make a sequel to this!” And I was right.

Read it too. Sounds pretty bad and nihilistic. I always prefer a little hope in my stories, especially in dark ones. Doing edgy and dark and violent for the sake of it is just.. to easy imo. And also, why would you want to play something like that? Even GoT always had it's reasons for being dark and awful.... until they ran out of books anyway.
EDIT: correct one spelling mistake.

I watched the full hour and 30 min of it and was floored... there is nothing they can put in that game that can make up for such travesties. At least for me. I got no problem with key characters getting killed, but it’s all about how and why. What purpose does it serve? This game should not exist.

Dito to that. SPOILERS (if Cerberus hasn't seen the footage, yet , btw. how are you doing? Hope you're safe and well.) I can swallow that they kill Joel, but also force you to kill Ellie? Don't get me wrong I am not completely against that, but shouldn't you be given the choice as the player? I know ND isn't really the studio for multiple endings, but how about making an exception here? Wouldn't that be more powerful? Also, I get that they want to show the cycle of revenge (and hatred), but wouldn't it be great, if someone broke the cycle or at least could get a chance to do that? SPOILERS END Now, I still want to give the benefit of a doubt and say, maybe in context, all this works a lot better, bot for me it still feels too nihilistic just for the sake of it. I think, Kojima handled this revenge theme a lot more gracefully... and I'm not saying that lightly Getting you to feel empty and betrayed at the end. Still playing Spider-Man PS4 btw. and playing this game just feels good. Apart from the stellar gameplay (the only game where a location marker in an open world that is 2000 metres away makes me smile because traversing itself is so much fun), the story is actually really, really good. I mean pre-2020 Naughty Dog level of good. Great characters, dialogue, pacing, I really care for these versions of these characters. And let me tell you, there are some really sad and some really dramatic moments in that game. Better than the Raimi films, imo. Sometimes, I just want to feel good while playing a game.

Yes, thank u for your concern. Australia is currently crushing the virus for now, hopefully we can rescind restrictions soon. I heard Germany experienced a 2nd wave...terrible!
Yeah speaking of your friendly neighbourhood webslinger I don't really know what the hell Peter Parker was doing with Iron Man. Aren't they COMPLETELY separate movies, WHY would New York and Tony Stark be related? Aside from the two battles in NY, from the first Avengers and Infinity War respectively.
But that's the same issue i have with Batman v Superman. They're both superheroes, one is based in Gotham and the other in Metropolis...since WHEN did they ever meet each other? They should be fighting CRIME, why are they fighting each other? And how the hell does it make sense at all? (It's my 2 cents. If it happens in the comics that might be justified but makes no sense...)

Off topic, but in the comics (both DC and Marvel) they have all their superheroes exist in one shared universe. Actually, modern Marvel comics was build on that in the 1960s. Early Spider-Man tried to get a job with the Fantastic Four, but declined when he realized, it didn't pay, teamed up with daredevil, became best buds with The Human Torch and would see Thor fly across a panel. Actually, that Superheroes hadn't crossed over in the movies before was a major reason why so many superhero movies felt lackluster imo. So,personally, as someone who read a lot of superhero comics in his youth, I'm glad it's finally happening. Although, I wish Warner would hire better writers who actually know the characters they are trying to adapt. I mean, Zack Snyder doesn't understand Superman or Batman, which is why they were so bad on the big screen recently.

It had a 3-part crossover episode, "World's Finest". If you want to know, what a crossover between these characters could look like done right, I recommend checking that one out. EDIT: Generally, if you want to see the best on-screen versions of DC characters, check out the DC Animated Universe from that era (Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond/ Batman of the Future, Static Shock, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited). It produced great content from 1992 all the way up to 2006 and its influence is still felt in virtually all of today's animated superhero shows.

Yes! DC Animated Universe is the best! I own all of it. We are rewatching Justice League Unlimited now actually. So good!

Lol. I actually missed out all these stuff as a kid. Still remember watching the good ol' Batman with Nicholson as the Joker at my young age.

Pickup the Batman Animated Series Blu-ray set. Came out last year. It’s my definitive version of Batman. Writing is stellar.
