Just snuck a peek into the video. Generally I like the idea of not just a well made MGS4 remaster, but maybe even a big Metal Gear remastered collection (similar to the 20th anniversary or legacy collections), maybe even with Twin Snakes and Portable Ops included as bonus, since one is a decent remake of alternative look at the events of MGS1, the other the once fully canon link between MGS3 and MGS4.
Then again, I love my Legacy Collection and next to it the CE Steelbook that actually had room for two discs in Europe and holds both GZ and TPP (and shows both games' cover art) as my in-use set^^ xD I am petty that way, admittedly.
No, all joking aside, I'm all for a well made remaster that preserves and optimizes the original game and maybe even adds a few more goodies (like restoring some of the Online functionality of MGS4, where you could unlock e.g. the Desert Eagle).
Personally, I don't think it's gonna happen, as long as Konami stays Konami and the Metal Gear I.P. doesn't change owners. Never say never, but.... my hopes aren't high on this one.
Besides, I remember reading the game was strongly tailored to the whacky architecture of the PS3 which is part of the reason why it is so hard to port in the first place.

Yeah, they mention that in the video too. And they would have to do something about the MK II and III controller. It’s a PS3 controller Snake is holding. Still, we can dream! For now I would settle for just having the PS5 supporting PS3 games. But no such luck yet.

Then again, I think the idea of Snake using an "outdated" PS3 controller lovable xD

Can’t connect old wired controllers to new systems. But that is a thought though. Could be a fun new gimmick.

And then there's always the issue that not everyone keeps their old system and corresponding accessories.

Yeah. But it reminds me of how you MUST change your memory card slot in the original MGS to stop Mantis from hijacking your system (if i remember correctly)

Wasn’t the memory card. He read the memory card. But you had to switch controller ports.

I thought it was kind of adorably funny how you screwed that reference up. Kind of like saying "It reminds me how Darth Vader DID actually kill Luke's father." I really mean no offense. I just thought it was funny.
