Something new I never saw before. When the BBs take out the militia in Act 1 of MGS4, you can get a Psycho Mantis cameo. After Mantis breaks the soldier’s back, Snake turns to look up. You get a prompt to push L1 to see Screaming Mantis. But if at the same time you push the stick to the left, the camera moves over you see Psycho Mantis looking down at you.

THat's attention to detail. Even after 12 years you find something new. I think I remember spotting him once, but I'm not sure.

It’s been a long time since I played Snatcher, but recently watched a Playthrough on YouTube. Love that game! And it makes me appreciate Act 3 of MGS4 that much more. It’s truly the MSX tribute Act. I feel like that’s the part none of the MGS4 reviews ever noted. Most feel the game doesn’t have a strong identity compared to the previous games. Yes and no. It’s meant to be an ending that recaps the rest. And in that it has a very unique identity.
Act 1 - MGS4. New setting, new mechanics, new look and feel. Act 2 - MGS3. More wilderness setting rather than urban. Tracking mechanics and an MGS3 style disguise. Act 3 - MSX. Young Snake cammo, tailing a target like in MG2, Gillian Seed disguise and introduction of Dwarf Gecco. A very Snatcher vibe! Act 4 - MGS1. Act 5 - MGS2. Futuristic submersible with high tech ninja soldiers similar to Arsenal Gear.
That’s what makes it so unique! It’s summary of Kojima’s first 20 years of game design.
