Wow, we made it out of 2020! Hope everyone got through it ok.

It just occurred to me that in just a few months, March 5th, Metal Gear Forever will be 20 years old! Seems like forever ago!!!

Hey, that sounds like a great anniversary party... for only two people thanks to Corona^^.

We came out okay and mostly unscathed. I managed to completed my Jedi teacher-training and am now officially a teacher! So, there's a stone that fell off my chest. And mi fiancé is now my wife. And we're now homeschooling, which means, essentially, flexible hours and a very homely office^^. So, actually, 2020 wasn't that bad in the end for us.

Congrats on all fronts!

We’ve been working from home, so not too bad! The only downside is one of our cats passed away, so that was sad. The rest of the year not bad. Hoping 2021 some normal life will start to come back!

Sounds like you had a hard year too Arsenal. I'm sorry to hear about your cat. Can't say much changed for me though in 2020. Just added a mask to my daily life and continued working.

I'm sorry to hear that, A.G. We generally aren't cat people and I've never owned a cat (though I've been living with dogs all my life). However, in recent years a cat started showing up in my wife's stables. He seems to get along with our horses like no other cat, hence has prime real estate. Finally, after the biggest blizzard I've seen in my lifetime where I live with 2-3 foot snow, we've decided to put a warm blanket (from one of our horses) and some cat food near our horses (in a dry cosy place). He seems pretty happy with the arrangement, but insists we don't consider him our "pet"

Just wanted to share that recent anecdote.

I've now been finally able to sign a contract, I'm now officially a fully employed teacher with a steady income. 10 years of hard work have finally payed off.

Hmm, this year marks the 20th anniversary of MGS2. I feel old. Although in Europe it's just the 19th anniversary. I think even next week.

Yup! The demo of MGS2 came out in March on 2001. I launched this site on March 5th. So 20 years this coming Friday!

Right! Although we only got the non-playable one, which was basically the opening cutscene and a trailer. I was a bit disappointed when I bought ZoE, although the game was pretty good. I had just discovered and gotten into Neon Genesis Evangelion, so this game scratched that itch.

Really? Non playable? Very strange move. I loved the demo we got! Played almost daily. Never seen a game on that level before MGS2. I still have that demo disk.

Yeah, other than that (and the screwed up German dub; Ocelot, Jim Houseman, Donald Anderson were all voiced by the same actor, so the reveal at the end, that Ocelot was a spy was kind of f***ed up, since it could have easily been Jim Houseman; however, it did improve the Master Miller is really Liquid-twist), us Europeans had it actually pretty good: we got stuff late, but usually something extra: MGS2 Substance came bundled with The Document of MGS2, without additional charge. MGS3 Subsistence had the Existence-Disc there in the standard edition and the MGSV CE had a steenbok that actually did have room for both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain as it was intended I think. 

But the MGS2 demo was a miss.

I have the original disks for the demos of MGS1-3. MGS3 was interesting as it had a different radio screen. And I have the MGS4 demo on my original 60GB PS3.
