Since we have a new person (Welcome to the boards!) I thought i might get opinions on whether CQC is as realistic in a REAL combat scenario as the games make it out to be.
We can CLEARLY see that the Boss EASILY kicks Snake's ass in most of MGS3 until the ending where you CAN take her out with only melee attacks, even on Extreme. Snake then evolves to take on Ocelot.
He's also VERY proficient in MGS4 against a whole mob of resistance fighters when he finds Big Mama and in MGS5.
Question is would this ACTUALLY work if somebody tried to pick a fight with you? Or even in self defense.
(I can easily see this devolving into a discussion of different martial arts, but let's talk about it anyways...)

I think it all come down to the reaction speed of an individual. Even a skilled fighter would usually not do well against multiple opponents attacking at once. Bruce Lee is a great example of this. His speed was off the charts, so I could see someone like that be able to handle multiple attackers. If you watch his movie fight with Chuck Norris, there is a cool slow motion section. Norris definitely looks like he is in slow motion but Bruce looks like he is moving normally. So I think if you have that level of attack speed and combat skill, you could do something as unbelievable as a movie fight sequence with multiple attackers.
