Konami confirmed that if there is interest with Snake Eater then there will be more remakes. Based on the trailer reactions, I think it’s a safe bet for now. But how would you handle the new Delta series? I think while some games need to be direct remakes, others have some room to tighten up the story. After all, this is a new generation, a fresh start for a new era. I would love to see some of the story get more grounded and streamlined for a cleaner overall series.
Snake Eater - I think everyone knows that this doesn’t need any changes. It’s the origin story and should remain as is.
Big Boss - we all know how I feel about Peace Walker and MGS5. Would love to have a new game here that dives into the evolution of Big Boss but without the crazy AI, parasites, sh*tty characters, open world and tech that fits better with the other games.
Outer Heaven - the story of MG1 is very limited while some elements of MG2 are irrelevant, like OILIX. I think the two games can easily be combined into a single game. Everything would take place in Outer Heaven but the overall structure and flow would follow MG2. A few small things can be adjusted and some of the more useless bosses dropped. I would also look at revealing Big Boss’ betrayal midway through the game so we have time for Campbell to step in. We can also spend more time with Gray Fox, first saving him and then having him revealed as working for Big Boss.
Twin Snakes - the name works but basically a faithful retelling of MGS1. No plot changes needed except dropping the two endings since we know Meryl lived. Would need a new stipulation for the Ocelot torture, or just change it to cutscene, similar to MGS3. Not a fan of the button mash anyway.
Sons of Liberty - no changes dirty, but I would add more cutscenes and less radio. Some of those were really annoying when the characters stood next to each other. And let’s finally see Arsenal crash into New York. It’s been long enough!
Guns of the Patriots - I’m good with the general structure but need two big changes. First, an editor! Need to tighten up that bloated blot! And let’s get some of those originally planned conceits done. More dynamics of the battlefield and alliance with the rebels, more destructible environments, etc.
